Default Ronaldo is a disgrace to football - Jol

'To lose in those circumstances was a disgrace. And the biggest disgrace of all was Cristiano Ronaldo,' wrote Jol in his column for The Sunday Times.

'The key incident in the game was Wayne Rooney's sending-off. It wasn't even a booking.

'When Rooney trampled on Ricardo Carvalho, he didn't do it on purpose. Before that he was being impeded and should have had a foul anyway. The referee blew his whistle and paused and was thinking of what to do when Ronaldo ran over and asked him to show a card. It's how Ronaldo always behaves, trying to influence referees, and it turns my stomach when players do that.

'I thought to myself, how could he do that? You could argue that Ronaldo is playing for his country in a World Cup, so it's okay to do anything to win. I don't believe that. What about sporting values? Rooney is his club teammate, and judging by the way they walked out together at the start, joking, his friend? It was a double betrayal, a disaster for football.'

I don't see how its Ronaldo's fault. Most likely he did influenced the referee, but thats what a player is supposed to do in order to win the game.

I heard today that Rooney says Ronaldo never got him sent off and he holds no grudges.

If he's being truthful I think this shows maturity unlike some (Alan 'all elbows' Shearer).

Regardless if Rooney is right or wrong, or guilty or inocent, he needs to mature, and not involve himself in these distractions.

If you take out the committed side out of his game he is not the same player like Roy Keane. I agree he needs to be more mature but he has changed since his first year. But refs see him as a bad boy and see him as a easy target to send of.

As John McEnroe would say " you can't be serious."

Has this Wc made everyone louco? I mean seriously. Ronaldo has the heart and dedication to his country and NT.

This kid is an Easy Escapegoat For everything. He does alot and maybe diving is his weakest point. But , The part of him not being committed doesn't make sense.

Like I said, If he played For Ingerland it would be a non issue or even italy, People would only praise him.

HATERS WILL ALWAYS HATE NO MATTER WHAT

Strange that...look who England's scapegoats were the last 4-5 tournaments...
Strange that...I guess the stadium was of of English fans in the semi-final and last night.
Strange that...nobody said it was Ronaldo's fault England got kicked out.
Strange that...Ronaldo was critisized for his wink and a few remarks after the game. Now he says he hat so leave ManU (not because of the treatment he fears) because he thinks ManU have treated him unfairly. If I was a ManU fan or even Alec F. I would want to smack him across the face.

He has a lot of talent and the potential to be one of the greats. However he is also a big baby and a selfish brat. He is not a team player, always looking to be fancy and dribble past a few players instead of looking for the smart pass. And then he shoots from 40 yards out when he gets the chance...sorry he needs to grow up even more than Rooney does.

Lets face it folks if they don't start handing out red cards for diving you may as well get used to it and quite bitching about it all the time.

Personally, I thought Ronaldo was trying out For the Portuguese Swim Team

Red Card won't do shite, it only sends a message. Im sure people will keep doing it to cheat.

That Ronaldo dive was Just Funny to se and the Refs was Just staring at him
