I'm glad Australia has Brasil, Japan and Croatia in our group. The more spotlights will be on our performance so that we can export our game to the world.
If Australia beat Brasil the world will be watching and it will be the best thing to ever happen for Australian football. If we lose, who cares? We're expected to lose.

Also,...what would be the point in going to the WC if all you got were a list of dull opponents with no history or superstars?

I know nothing about international football really but have drawn Croatia in a sweepstake today so I win £19 if Croatia win. So I am hoping they can sneak second but I'd imagine Hiddink's Australia team are in with a good chance.

Croatia are every bit as good as Australia but more experienced.

I remember Croatia doing fairly well in 98 I think; didn't they get to the semis?

yeah but they were carried by suker, i think they ended up 3rd but that was 8 years ago, id say most of those players would be long retired by now...
im still gonna go with croatia to qualify tho, along with brazil altho i would not be shocked at all if australia or japan make it thru either...

Suker took all the glory but Boban and Stanic were awesome during that tournament.

^^yeah sorry i apologise for that, i realised after i posted that it was a stupid comment cos a team isnt just one person, he mite have scored but others had to defend and assist....
altho it was still 8 years ago and most have retired...

Certainly they aren't as good as in 98. But they have decent fire power, technically sound midfield and very experienced defenders.

Japan looked interesting in the first 60 minutes against the Germans, but then they folded like a bad piece of origami. I think the Australians will finish ahead of them.
