Round of 16: Spain v France
20:00 Kick Off.
Two talented teams, one in red hot form carving through the tournament, the other limping into contention. Spain are very much a young up and coming team whereas France are made up of the old guard of European football (of the modern day at least).
The midfield battle promises to be very interesting - Makalele and Vieira vs Xavi and Xabi...not to mention Henry's rematch with Puyol and Ramos.

Going out on a limb, and predicting a tight stale mate. I think France is going to be very physical with Spain.

There was a headline on Marca saying "We are going to retire Zidane" when they found out France was their opponents. Completely unecessary comment, considering they were licking his ass when he retired at Madrid!
But in all honesty, indirectly, I hope they do retire him!

Just wait and see. France will win the match.
About the Marca headline: Spain will try to retire Zidane to reach ' sus' quarters"
Nothing wicked against Zidane at all on this level. He is holy in Madrid and Spain.

After limping through the group stages and lifting a great weight from their shoulders I expect France to really be up for it and be deadly on the counter attack.
Henry to win it.

France will have a tough time to adapt to spains tactics. But, I think Frances experience will win the game.

I wonder if Henry will be motivated because of the racist comments made by the Spanish coach????
This is the dynamic I'm looking for.
Italian ref..cool.
This is exactly what I want to see, two Euro powers going at it.
Will the Spanish "jinx" continue, or will they break it?
Can the french recapture their former glory?

Henry up front on his own again. Good work, Domenech! Brazil vs Spain then.

Hmm. That penalty looks nailed on in slow motion but looks a lot less certain at full speed.

I guess this is what I mean. Its a foul, but he is no where near scoring, if I'm an official, I don't call that, but that's just me.
However it was a foul, no doubt about that. Stupid play by the defender.
