Arrow Barnes cools Hornets return talk

Former Watford hero John Barnes has played down talk linking him with a return to the club as manager following the exit of Aidy Boothroyd.

Barnes has been linked with the vacant manager's job at Vicarage Road following the departure of Aidy Boothroyd.

Reports have suggested Watford could make a move for Barnes, currently head coach of Jamaica, to replace Boothroyd, but Barnes has rubbished the rumours.

"I don't comment on speculation. Watford have not spoken to me nor have I spoken to them," Barnes told the Jamaica Observer.

"The fact of the matter is that I have a job and that is the end of the story really.

"The obvious link though is that I am a former Watford player, as is Luther Blissett.

"Watford have just lost their manager so people are speculating about former Watford players. It is just paper talk."
