Hornets hook Stoke ace Eustace
Watford have signed Stoke City captain John Eustace on a two-and-a half-year deal after agreeing to pay £250,000 for the midfielder.
The Hornets have paid out £250,000 for the former Coventry City man, although that figure could rise up to £400,000 if Watford are promoted.
Eustace, 28, joined the Potters on a free transfer from the Sky Blues in 2003 and went on to make 74 league appearances for the club.
With Watford just two points off leaders West Brom, manager Adrian Boothroyd will be hoping Eustace will be the man to help them regain their place in the Premier League.
Eustace is the Hornets' second signing on transfer deadline day following the acquisition of Leigh Bromby earlier on Thursday.
