Boothroyd ponders move for Routledge
AIDY BOOTHROYD is hoping to replace Adam Johnson with another loan signing.
The loan window closes tomorrow (Thursday) at 5pm and the Watford boss is hoping to bring a winger, preferably left-sided, to provide cover and competition for Tommy Smith and Jobi McAnuff.
"I've got to do it by tomorrow but I'm hoping to beef up the squad for the next ten games," said the manager. "If I can get someone left sided I will."
Watford have been linked with a move for Spurs wide man Wayne Routledge and Boothroyd admitted he is an admirer of the former Palace star.
"I like Wayne and I've tried to get him a couple of times," he said. "He's a player I do like and we'll have to see where we go with that one."
