Forrester makes winning return

HARRY FORRESTER returned to Watford's London Colney training ground on Saturday for the first time since he left for Aston Villa.

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder lined up in the Villa Under-18 side who defeated the Hornets 2-1 thanks to a disputed winner from Ciaran Clark with five minutes to go. Marvin Sordell had earlier cancelled out Zolton Stieber's 15th-minute opener.

Forrester turned down the chance to sign a two-year scholarship with the Hornets in the summer, opting instead to join Ashley Young at Villa Park.

The amount of compensation Watford are due from Villa will be decided at a tribunal on December 18.

have to say, im pretty impressed with the kid and him and delfouneso have struck up a nice understanding at both youth and reserve level...

i think that 1.2 million is an excellent piece of business for us, and at the same time, reward watford for a kid who had in all reality, proven nothing...

its good that we had to give watford a fair bit of cash for a player that we "poached"...

if only the authorities would make the likes of liverpool, utd, arsenal, chelsea, etc, pay a similar amount, then that would make things a little fairer...

but the fuckwit association doesnt work like that, and we cant go upsetting the likes of those clubs now, can we....

Harry is a very good midfielder. For me he has potential of being a very good soccer player for years to come.
