O'Toole tipped for starring role
Republic of Ireland Under-21 caretaker manager Sean McCaffrey believes Watford midfielder John-Joe O'Toole may be a major asset to the country.
O'Toole, 19, will make his Irish debut in today's UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifier against Montenegro in Podgorica.
The midfield starlet qualifies for Ireland through his Mayo-born grandparents.
London-born O'Toole has played 10 times for the Hornets this season and his performances have made a big impression on McCaffrey.
"I'm very impressed with John-Joe O'Toole," said McCaffrey, the youth team manager who is coaching the Under-21s for this fixture as regular boss Don Givens is acting as caretaker manager for the seniors for their Euro 2008 fixture against Wales.
"He's a good passer of the ball, quick feet, sees a pass, great athletic ability, he's a powerful, strong player. He's good in the air.
"He looks a real addition to this squad. Big time."
