Boss eyes quality in January sales
Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd insists he will opt for quality rather than quantity if he dips into the transfer market in January.
The Championship leaders are poised to go into 2008 in stark contrast to the start of this year, when they were relegation certainties in the Premier League.
Boothroyd is pondering whether to add to his squad when the transfer window re-opens to cement the Hornets' bid for automatic promotion and he knows the type of player he wants to attract to Vicarage Road.
He told the Watford Observer: "We've been looking since August so we are prepared if we need to buy or bring players in on-loan in January. That fresh face in January always gives everybody a lift.
"It depends which players you are trying to sell the club to. If you went for the type of players that I think we need then I think people will still be undecided.
"We are not proven at Premiership level yet and these are the type of players we need to add to what we've got."
