Arrow Cardiff v Watford match thread

Wednesday's clash against Watford provides Dave Jones' side with an opportunity to put right a poor home record.

The Bluebirds, who have lost both of their games at Ninian Park this season, have doubts over central defenders Glenn Loovens and Darren Purse.

Loovens is carrying a troublesome foot injury, while Purse is struggling with weight loss after suffering an infection after a recent operation on his knee.

Watford boss Boothroyd has a trio of quality strikers to choose from in Darius Henderson, Nathan Ellington and Marlon King.

Henderson could start after demonstrating his ability by coming off the bench and scoring two late goals in the dramatic 3-2 win over Southampton.

There are doubts over Lee Williamson's fitness, so on-loan Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Johnson is poised to make his full debut.

subs:

Priskin
Lee

Would be a bold decision to drop King for the inform Henderson. Johnson may not start either as McAnuff is only playing well in a few patches during the game but Johnson's free kicks are very usefull aswell as the face he is a decent threat on the left.

Very good start on the season for Watford. I saw the game against Saints and the team looked strong. They seem to have the extra which the other teams seems to not have. At this moment Watford looks like the strongest Championship team but it's too ealy to say yet.Anyway...A real good opening on the season.

Tough fixtures thats for sure, all against teams who will be up around the top.

The signing of Ellington has really given Henderson a kick up the arse! The competition for places is very strong upfront, not even Priskin can get of the bench and Hoskins has had to go out on loan too.

This season Henderson knows he has toooo score as last season we had no strength in depth upfront. So glad he stayed.

You know you got a quality squad when King and McAnuff are on the bench.
