Arrow Hornets sign up starlet O'Toole

Watford midfielder John-Joe O'Toole has signed a one-year professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old is a product of the club's academy and made his first-team debut in the Carling Cup against Southend last month.

"John-Joe is another youngster from our successful youth academy," manager Aidy Boothroyd told the club's official website.

"He has got the raw talent to progress to be a big star.

"He's still got a lot to do, but I have every faith in him fulfilling his potential."

Watford youngster John-Joe O'Toole is delighted to have finally signed a professional contract at Vicarage Road.

The midfielder joined fellow members of last year's second year scholars, Theo Robinson, Alex Campana and Jordan Parkes, in putting pen-to-paper on a deal with The Hornets last week.

"It feels really good to sign - it's been a long time coming. I've wanted to be a footballer ever since I was eight or nine years old and I'm delighted now to have the opportunity," O'Toole told the club's official website.

"It's been hard work, but I'm working with all the senior players now. It's been really great. You learn a lot from training with the older players and you pick up tips here and there. Everyone helps you out in different ways."
