Watford are looking to beef up their strike-force as they bid for a swift return to the top flight.

They have been eyeing up West Brom's Nathan Ellington, Jon Stead from Sheffield United and Birmingham City's Cameron Jerome.

The Times

Watford have been looking at Nolberto Solano but are unlikely to be able to afford the wage demands of the 32-year-old midfield player, who has been made surplus to requirements by Newcastle United. He claimed that West Ham United had offered him a deal, after having said that he wanted to move to London for family reasons.

West Brom's Nathan Ellington is being chased by Championship rivals Watford and Charlton. (Various)

solano would be a great signing but there's no chance at all we'll get him, especially if west ham are interested.

ellington wouldn't be bad. proven goalscorer at this level, the only concern is that he can't get in west brom's team at the moment.

West Brom have Beattie and Phillips ahead of him.

His goalscoring record is very good. Would be very good if he could link up with King.

Priskin sting to have Gjori ending?

Watford`s 5th best striker Tamas Priskin favors a move away from Watford in the summer and would even go back on loan to Gyori ETO FC in Hungary if he could, according to web reports.

The young striker off the Eastern block finds himself behind the likes of Steve Kabba, the injured Collins John and Moses Ashikodi at Vicarage Road (never mind Ellington or Henderson) and is eyeing up a switch back to join old club Gyori should the Hornets not get promoted.

Priskin told reporters from Hungary`s finest sports paper, Kisalfold "It`s true that I don`t get too much time on the pitch so I think if we don`t win promotion then I`ll leave Watford in [the] summer."
And despite reportedly being tracked by the likes of German giants Stuttgart and FC Koln last season, the 21 year old striker revealed a desire to return to his homeland.

He added "I keep checking what`s going on with Gyori in Hungary and I`ve read that they problems in their attacking section but so far no one has contacted me from ETO… I think my club officials at Watford wouldn`t let me go to Hungary on loan".

Indeed, Aidy Boothroyd insisted at a Fans Forum earlier this season that Priskin has badgered him about a loan move but the Watford boss stated "He has asked twice [about a loan] and I have said no".

VitalWatford just aren`t sure about Tamas - He has an impressive hit rate at international level with 6 goals in 16 showings for Hungary (mostly friendlies mind)
but has notched up only 5 times in 35 outtings at Watford…He really should have packed his international shooting boots when he headed off for Hertfordshire and now his Hungarian shirt could be under threat.

He will probably go to be honest.

Aidy does really rate him highly though.

We have Henderson, Ellington, John, Kabba ahead of him.

Whenever Priskin has played he is far too lightweight and lack of effort.
