He will probably help Richard Lee and Scott Loach are younger keepers improve.

Plus we have a young squad on the whole so some experience is needed I guess.

Newly promoted Derby County are ready to offer Danny Shittu the stay in the Premiership he requires. Watford’s Nigerian central defender has announced his desire to leave the relegated club and manager Billy Davies wants to complete a £2m deal this week. (The Times)

like the McAnuff scenario I want this to be sorted soon. Thing is Derby are linked with everyone Claude Davis etc.

Derby will only bench him.Better for him to stay at Watford and play football.

He should stay at Watford. Fans love him. He loves the whole idea of 'family club' as he is the one footballer who takes it all very seriously.

Plus if he stays he will help us get back as he will be too strong for the championship as his style of defending is more suited for the champ.

He wont go for cheap if he leaves though.

not like they've just got £60m from being promoted is it? i'm sure they could afford him, and he would get in their team. i really hope he doesn't go though, he would be a massively important player for us next year.

JOBI McAnuff looks poised to become the first big-name departure from Crystal Palace this week - with Watford chasing a deal for the winger.

Hornets manager Aidy Boothroyd is a long-term admirer of the Eagles ace and failed with a bid for his services last summer.

But Watford have renewed their interest in McAnuff, who has also been linked with Premiership newboys Derby County.

McAnuff's advisor Tony Finnigan said: "I can confirm Watford have enquired about Jobi and I understand the clubs are talking."

Palace chairman Simon Jordan stated recently that he expected a summer shake-up at Selhurst Park and it now appears that McAnuff will be the first to head out of the exit door.
