Striker Czechs in at Watford
Watford have taken Banik Ostrava striker David Strihavka on trial as Adrian Boothroyd tries to beef up his attack.
Following a season-ending injury to Marlon King, Watford have been short of firepower and a bid for Fulham's Collins John looks doomed.
Boothroyd has also been looking to the continent for reinforcements and recently had Troyes' Polish forward Marek Saganowski on trial.
Banik hot shot Strihavka has now pitched up at Vicarage Road, with his Czech club confirming the trial.
"We have accepted their request to take David on a short trial," Banik's board chairman Jakub Kahoun told the club's official website.
"Nevertheless, it is not clear what happens in the future. We'll see what he returns with.
"So far the only communication between us and Watford has been very brief. Actually, we have just exchanged one email."
Kahoun concedes that, should Strihavka impress The Hornets, then it would be difficult to stop the 23-year-old from moving to the Premiership.
He added: "Of course, an offer should be adequate compared to his qualities.
"Despite this, it is clear that it is very difficult to keep the player here if such a club shows interest."
