Thumbs up Loach eyes future with England

Goalkeeper Scott Loach believes joining newly promoted Watford will help him become first choice for England, in the future.

The 18-year-old has completed his move from Lincoln after spending the final month of last season on trial with the Hornets, who will play in the Premiership next term.

Loach is unlikely to be Adrian Boothroyd's number one next season - but his ambition will have pleased the Vicarage Road boss.

"My ultimate goal is to play for England, and I think that coming to Watford will help me achieve that," he said.

"In the short term, I want to get used to the tempo of training here and establish myself.

"Then I want to make sure I'm the number one for the reserve team - and put pressure on whoever is in the first team next season."

It's great to hear young lads have the desire to play for their country, but I believe that Ben Foster is going to replace Paul Robinson as the next No 1 England goalkeeper.

And I'm sure that many Man Utd supporters around the country would like to thank Watford for giving him the chance to prove himself.
