Default Milito Desperate For Valencia Switch

Milito Desperate For Valencia Switch

Quote:

Diego Milito has told Real Zaragoza that he wants to leave the club and join Valencia after agreeing personal terms with the Mestalla-based outfit.

Los Maños know that they cannot consider holding on to the Argentinian striker after being relegated, but will not let him leave on the cheap and have already rejected a €12m bid from Napoli.

Now Valencia are preparing an offer although new supremo, Juan Villalonga, is keen to off-load Nikola Zigic before finally revelaing how much the club has for Milito.

The player and his agent, Fernando Hidalgo, are set to hold talks with Zaragoza owner, Agapito Iglesias, this week along with sporting director Pedro Herrera.

Those talks should result in a transfer being eased through, but only if Valencia do agree to meet Milito's asking price because otherwise he will remain at La Romareda.

On Monday, the former Genoa goalscorer returned to pre-season training with Zaragoza and new coach Marcelino knows that new strikers for his squad are now vital.

Ricardo Oliveira did not attend the first day back at work, but is expected to leave the club after several sides have already made approaches for him this summer.

Milito - Villa would work much like Morientes - Villa did I think, which equals tonnes of goals.
