Timo Hildebrand Thread
Che close to keeper deal
Carboni says "The deal is as good as settled". Which usually means that it is a very possible signing but not definate.
Hildebrand on a free transfer would be good for Valencia with him being a natural replacement for Canizares.

Would be a very good sign for Valencia. Hilderbrand is a class keeper.
I hope I don't see him leaving Bundesliga though.

If Timo is coming then that might mean that Quique is going. He doesn't want Timo so it looks like he's being overuled. Valencia got battered 4-2 by their Valencia neighbours Levante last weekend and it seems as if Quique's case is crumbling.
I think if Quique Flores goes then Bernd Schuster will replace him as it looks like Madrid will keep Capello now. The Atletico Madrid job may also be free and Schuster is an ex-Atletico player so he may choose Atletico over Valencia, we'll see.

Valencia To Unveil Hildebrand Tomorrow
Quote:
Valencia have officially announced what has long been suspected- that Timo Hildebrand will be joining them from Stuttgart.
The German international goalkeeper will undergo a medical on Wednesday before signing a three year contract with ‘Los Ches’.
Hildebrand chose not to extend his contract with the German champions and exercise his right to leave on a free transfer.
However his position at Valencia remains in doubt as Amadeo Carboni, the man who did so much to bring him to Spain, has since left his position as Valencia manager.
It has been reported that current trainer Quique Sánchez Flores does not particularly rate the 28 year old German.
It seems Hildebrand will face an uphill battle to displace current Valencia number one Santiago Caňizares, who has been at the Mestalla since 1998 and is a fan’s favourite.

Would have been a genious signing if Quique had any intention of playing him.

I don't know. I think Timo will warm the bench. Quique Flores doesn't like him.

If I was Valencia manager then despite me being a Canizares fan I would be getting ready to start Timo over Cani.
Quique Flores didn't want Timo, he was signed on a pre-contract by the SD Carboni who has just been fired. Timo got caught up in their war and I feel sorry for him. The best he can hope for now is to get his head down and prove in training that he's better than Canizares although I don't think even that is enough as Quique is one of the most stubborn managers around.

Timo presented as a Valencia player. Looks like he might be being paid to collect splinters in his arse from the bench next season.

Hildebrand Denies Bayern Contact
Quote:
Cañizares And I Are Not Friends - Hildebrand
Timo Hildebrand has revealed that he and Santiago Cañizares are not friends and that they only communicate in training when they have to.

The German international goalkeeper moved to Mestalla in the summer from VfB Stuttgart, but has not been eager to win people over at his new club.
After Ronald Koeman announced that Cañizares has been given the nod to face Schalke 04 in the Champions League he may have even les to say to his teammates.
"Cañizares and I are not friends, we do not talk much," Hildebrand said. "Above all, we are colleagues in training.
"If he comes to speak to me then I will respond to him, but if not, then we do not have any sort of contact. But everything is fine."
Koeman has been asked constantly about the battle for the number one spot at Valencia, and after naming Cañizares in the squad for the visit of Schalke, hit out at the media.
"I do not want to speak about this any more," the coach stated. "It is not good for Cañizares, nor for Hildebrand and not for the team.
"The decision has now been taken; Cañizares is going to play because it is a very important position and I cannot constantly change it around.
"Now I am only thinking about winning on Wednesday. I have been in this game for many years and I am not worried, I see things positively."

Koeman prefers Canizares over Timo, canizares started in the last 4 games (under koeman) and I think he shows in every match that he doesn't deserve to start on goal.
hildebrand must be very frustrated...

Canizares looks like the definate starter and I expected that when I heard that Timo would sign but considering Canizares' form I think any retard would be starting Timo by now.
