Default Athletic Bilbao 5-1 Valencia

Sun. 20 - 21:00 CET - Athletic Bilbao vs Valencia

Another lose for Valencia I think but their recent cup success might boost them into winning here.

You would have thought the cup would have boosted them...well you would be very very wrong.

They lost 5-1.

It was 1-0 thanks to a deflected goal that beat Mora, scored by Martinez in the 1st half. Then bad defending by miguel cost Valencia 2 more goals both scored by Llorente, bad closing down in one and playing a Bilbao player onside for the 3rd. Then Villa scored a deflected free kick giving Valencia hope with the score at 3-1. Joaquin came on as did Morientes in the 2nd half and they didn't help at all.

Then more bad defending by the keeper Mora gave Bilbao a 4th and then in the 92nd min Bilbao scored the 5th.

Alexis and Marchena defended poorly. And I completely agree with Oli that Miguel has got fat, i mean he could hardly run and is now absolutely terrible.

Koeman should leave asap seeing as Valencia are 2 points away from the relegation zone in 16th position. Imagine that at the beginning of the season Valencia were in the CL and now they might be relegated. The new Valencia owner said that they honour contracts that they have given, i.e to koeman as he has 2 years left on his contact, but this is ridiculous as he really hasn't helped them at all. I still think that kicking Albelda, Canizares and Angulo out of the squad was a big mistake and as you can see Koeman is still paying for it.

Pat are Silva and Vicente injured?

Valencia will most likely lose Villa, perhaps Joaquin and Silva in the summer and a few other big name players.

Terrible result again, saw the highlights and the defence was everywhere, Koeman had no answer yet again.

With the honouring contracts I read the comment by the Prez but it was before the Copa Final so probably said that to stabilise the side. Koeman will be fired either in the next few days, the next loss or they might let him try and save them until the end of the season.

Also I think both Vicente and Silva have a knock, Silva is almost always a starter.

5 games left to save themselves.
