Koeman Ready To Ship Miguel To England
Valencia are set to meet with Portuguese international Miguel’s agent Paulo Barbosa today to seal the former Benfica star’s signature.
After the deals for Kromkamp and Sagnol feel through, los Ches jumped on their seats when they heard that Miguel was free after he annulled his contract with the Portughuese champs yesterday.
The right wing, who is also being tracked by Fiorentina and Juventus, will probably join Valencia by the end of the week.
There is only one slight worry for the Spanish outfit, and that is the legal problems they might incur in by signing him, as Benfica want to bring the player to court.

Benfica will take the player to court
http://www.record.pt/noticia.asp?id=679146&idCanal=11

Apparently Miguel have had his contract annulled with Benfica due to Benfica breaking a (or several) clause(s) in the contract and is therefor free to sign with whoever he likes. But Benfica ofcourse is not giving up that easy and for all we know Miguel could have broken some clauses in the contract too. It's a real mess though and as a Valencia fan I hope this solves quickly so we can sign him cuz Curro Torres is out 7 months. Maybe Valencia could offer a 'gift' to smooth things out ;-D

incorrect information, Benfica sign him to a 3 year extension and all the paper work necessary was in the Superliga offices and the Portuguese federation, the players his only getting the back of the players union, of course, Benfica will wait but they will get the money.

Aha, so his contract did end but he signed an extension ? Ok, I read on Skysports that he had annulled his contract which sounded to me kinda of odd. Ok so what's the deal now? He signed the extension and then changed his mind or what?
