Default CL MD6: Chelsea 0-0 Valencia (Out of Europe)

Koeman Looks For Win Against Chelsea

Quote:

Ronald Koeman, the coach of Valencia, is hoping that his side will be able to defeat Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday, so that they can at least qualify for the UEFA Cup.

Valencia have been in disastrous form in recent outings, but Koeman is optimistic that his side can pick up a positive result against a Chelsea side that he feels are one of the candidates to win the Champions League.

“They are one of the favourites to win the Champions League,” he stated. “They are a team with players of a very high quality.”

Koeman’s side have no possibilities of advancing to the next stage of the Champions League, but the Dutchman feels that it is very important for his side to qualify for the UEFA Cup, and for that reason he will put out his best eleven for the match.

“The important part will be to play a good match, to continue where we left off against Osasuna, because it will influence our next few matches,” he said.

“Valencia have the capacity to pick up a good result.”

The coach was also questioned about the lack of finishing on the part of his strikers in their last four matches, but remained calm.

“We have to try to improve, but for now we shouldn’t be worried,” he said.

“If you analyze the matches of the big teams, you will also realize that they don’t create many chances.”

Goal.com

Chelsea haven't been beaten at home in the Prem for almost 50 matches and rarely get beaten there in Europe unless it's against Barcelona

Tough game for Valencia, they must get a win to qualify for the UEFA Cup and then have to prepare to play Barcelona at the weekend.

Koeman can keep dreaming.

I dislike Chelsea but i do respect them. And i know going to Stamford Bridge is quite a task. He should be looking for the draw, something a bit realistic.

if valencia win today I'll be very worried about our match against them onsunday but if they keep thier poor form then all is good.

even though I beleive it is possible that they beat chelsea, chelsea would probably field a reserves line-up and valencia are stilll valencia.

don't forget "only with 10 men, we can break them down"

Valencia are dirt, our reserve team can beat them, it's not like we haven't been playing our reserve team latly anyway with all the injuries we have.

Very funny !!

Silva + Villa + Vicente = whole Chelsea's attack
They are lot better than you when they are on good day, but the problem is that they weren't on form recently . .

Final Score:

Chelsea 0-0 Valencia

Which makes that 5 games in a row that Valencia have failed to score in.

The Valencia vs Barca game next weekend is the least worried I've been about the fixture ever, although I'd hate it if we were the team they finally took their frustrations out on

they clearly aren't better than us on their day as we beat them in the quarter finals last year when both teams were have a great season.

They aren't dirt they are just having a very bad run of form...they have some class players but they just haven't performed...I'm sure Koeman (the fact that they lost their manager half way into the season) might have something to do with this as well.

It isn't bollocks we have had injuries...yes it is getting better...but the Drogba injury is a massive blow to us...From the top 4 we have been the most unlucky up till now where Arsenal took over from us.

Valencia are dirt, Koemen has made them worse.

Drogba > all attacking options.

Are injuries? are bad, only thing that keeps us being legends is Alex is a chelsea player and Cudi is not injured as well.

even with Cech and Ferreira returning yesterday, Ballack, Carvalho, Drogba, Malouda, A.Cole.

so umm ye it's pretty bad. But Cech and Terry aren't injured like last year. So we will win title back this year, unless we have another c**** trying to make a name for him self again. Fact three draws fuked us up during xmas.

Carvalho and Terry a long side each other have only played under 10 games competivly in passed 12 months. Two best cb in world.

Anyway who cares, life to short, enjoy it.

bollocks, u haven't had particularly bad injury problems this season.

Worse of the top 4?? err... So when Rooney, Saha, Neville, Hargreaves, Carrick, Scholes & Park were all injured we weren't worse off or even as bad?

Who have u had injured this season? Drogba just now, Carvalho for a bit, and Cech for like 2 games? VDS was out for a game or 2 earlier in the season as well...

But keep coming up with excuses if it makes u feel better, just don't expect the rest of us to take them/u seriously.

Park and Saha wouldn't make you first team.... If Hargreaves, Carrick and Scholes were all fit they would not all make the first team...only 2 of them would.

When Rooney was injured Saha wasn't. So basically only 3 of those players are very important to you first team.

OMG....

If Rooney is injured who is the first choice backup? Saha!

If Scholes/Carrick/Hargreaves are injured, who's the first choice backup? yeah the one that wouldn't have been included when the others were fit! And at one point O'Shea and Fletcher were injured as well.

When Rooney was injured, Saha was injured, ur making things up now, that's y Tevez started the season up top alone (unfit as well).

And if Park were fit he would certainly be involved, SAF didn't want to have to use Nani so much so quickly.

So ur whole argument is bollocks....

why does tevez and rooney play together...even when Saha is fit?

I'm not talking about the beginning of the season...I'm talking about a few games ago...rooney being injured and Saha taking his place (round about the time when England played croatia)

any way...if it pleases you both our injuries have been equally damaging to the beginning of our seasons. Also we're going off topic.
