Valencia win Zigic race
Quote:
Skysports.com understands Valencia have beaten Manchester City to the capture of Racing Santander hit-man Nikola Zigic.
The Eastlands outfit have been tracking the Serbian forward for most of the summer as Sven Goran Eriksson looks to bolster his strike-force.
However, Eriksson has missed out on the Racing ace, who is expected to complete his Che switch within the next 24 hours.
The Mestalla outfit are reportedly offering Racing 15million euros (£10.1million) along with handing the striker a lucrative five-year contract.
Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen and Turkish giants Fenerbahce were also believed to be in the hunt for Zigic, however, he has opted to remain in La Liga.

Valencia have apparently won the Zigic race and beaten Man City to him for a whopping €15m(£10m)
Niko Zigic is better than Crouch and has actually got dribbling and ball control skills, can header, set up and score and actually play football for a tall guy but £10m may have been a tad too much.
Zigic will probably be fighting Morientes for the starting spot next to Villa. I think Quique is hoping the little and large tactic will work like it did at Santander with Zigic - Munitis which was one of the best strikeforces in Spain last season. Zigic will never be a 20-a-season man and at best will give you 15 but Quique can go totally counter attacking now by just blasting the ball out of defence to hit Zigic who then plays it to Silva, Joaquin or Vicente who have the speed.
