Joaquin eager to take fresh chance - CNN.com

The 25-year-old, who has won 42 caps, was dropped from the squad eight months ago and took a swipe at the national team saying they were in disarray under Aragones, although he later backtracked on his comments.

Quote:
"I don't regret what I said. I never meant to cause a problem but I suffered for the reaction it caused,"

Quote:
"It's a second chance. We have known each other a long time, he knows what I am like and vice-versa. I am pleased to be back, it is important."

Joaquin Sanchez is an EXCELENT player. Bloody Valencia got to sign him. He's very good, very quick and good with the ball. I have no doubt that he'll become one of Spain's finest players soon.

He scored in Valencia's 4-2 loss for his second in 3 games. He really sparked to form at the end of this season although I still think he was a bit too pricey at nearly £18m.

Default Joaquin: We Are Still Close To Our Objectives

Valencia winger Joaquin admitted that his club’s current situation is not at good, but believes that they are not too far from their sesson objectives.

Since Valencia’s shock 3-0 home defeat against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, heavy pressure has been mounted on the squad, but Joaquin believes that they will get back on track.

“(Our situation) is not a good one, but we are still close to our objectives," he said.

"There are five matches left, as well as the entire second round [return legs in La Liga], and even though we are doing very badly, we are within touching distance."

Joaquin declared that Valencia’s players have taken full responsibility for their poor form of late.

“It is us who have to walk onto the pitch to win the matches, but a little bit of help from everybody is necessary,” he said.

The Spanish international affirmed that Ronald Koeman discussed their situation in the dressing room after the match, and most squad members gave the coach their different opinions, although he didn’t want to reveal what was being said.

“What was discussed stays in the dressing room,” he insisted

Joaquin concluded by stating that some criticism is positive for the team to improve in the future.

“It helps us improve. Those who think differently aren’t moving into the right path, because the coach wants the team to win.”

Joaquin: Things Have Got Worse Since Koeman Arrived

Speaking to Marca, Valencia winger Joaquin feels that there has been precious little progress under new coach Ronald Koeman...

With Ronald Koeman already under immense pressure just months into his Mestalla tenure, star winger Joaquin admits that things are not going to plan under the Dutch coach.

He sighed, "Since the coach joined, the situation has been deteriorating.

"Sometimes we've shown improvement in individual matches, but not so often - that decreases our confidence even more.

"The squad is working hard, despite the doubts. It's hard to get out of this situation, but we're the only one who'll fix it."

The ex-Betis man added that the effective dismissal of three senior squad members - David Albelda, Santi Canizares and Miguel Angulo - had affected the team for the worse, as had the disruption caused by the sacking of former boss Quique Flores.

"Everything hits us - the dismissal of Quique as well as the controversy that followed," he admitted.

"The squad has been affected, and it's evident that things aren't going well.

"It's a hard situation because they were important players for so long. It was hard, for although we didn't want to rock the boat and make comments, they were strong squad members and the team didn't take it too well.

"I don't know what I'd have done in that situation... there may have been problems. It's all very difficult," he said.

However, Joaquin did express hope for the future.

"On behalf of the team, we need to move forward, but what concerns me is that it's hard to look forward when there are so many doubts," he said.

"When a team enters this dyanmic, it's hard to get confidence back.

"We have had some good results, but the team needs to be more consistent. We haven't done that for a while and it's what we must achieve."

Even his own players are getting on his back now

Joaquin should be careful otherwise Koeman will black list him as well.

Atlético Offered Joaquín?

Quote:

Spanish sports daily Marca claims that Valencia have offered Joaquín to Atlético Madrid...

Despite new coach Unai Emery being given assurances that Los Che would remain mostly constant over the summer, Marca reports that Joaquín is one player who may be moved on in an attempt to cut costs.

Valencia are working hard to secure funds to build their new stadium, and with the winger earning €1.8m a season, his departure would lessen the wage load considerably.

What's more, he'd also command a transfer fee, given that he has four years remaining on his deal at the Mestalla.

However, Valencia will almost certainly be unable to recover their original €27m investment in the ex-Real Betis man, and the €40m release clause built into his contract is at this point irrelevant. A fee of €15m could prove sufficient.

Curiously, though, Roma had an offer of around €18m rejected within the last couple of months.

Atleti Interest

Atlético could have more luck. The rojiblancos, despite having a wealth of wide options, are said to be interest in the Cádiz-born dynamo and possibly willing to make a move.

Curiously, though, Atleti are said to be more eager to land Pablo Hernández - the very man who could potentially inherit Joaquín's slot on the right at the Mestalla after returning to Valencia from a loan deal at Getafe.

Nonetheless, with rumours circulating that Pablo is not going to be bought back by Valencia, despite a wealth of positive performances, anything can happen.
