Sneijder admits Che desire!
Sky Sports - The Best Sport Coverage From Around The World
Quote:
Wesley Sneijder has said that joining Valencia would be a dream come true for him as reports suggest that the Spanish club are in talks about a summer move for the Ajax star.
The Holland international did not hold back as he praised the standard of the Spanish league and expressed his desire to play there in the future.
Reports in the Spanish media state that the Che's sporting director, Amadeo Carboni has travelled to Amsterdam to meet with the player's agent and that a bid could be on the cards.
"Maybe, maybe. I cannot say any more than that," Sneijder told Radio Valencia Cadena-SER in response to questions on talk that he could move to Valencia.
With the rumours growing, Sneijder stated he would welcome a move to Valencia and is flattered by the interest being shown in him.
"It would be a dream to play for Valencia," he said. "It is a big club and I have read and heard everything about what is being said about me and the interest being shown.
"I am very proud about that and I know a lot about Valencia."
Having risen through the youth ranks at Ajax, Sneijder is now keen to try his hand abroad and believes that la Primera is the place to be.
"The Spanish league is, possibly, the best in the world and it would be incredible to play there," he continued.
"I may play there next season or perhaps the one after that. Everyone knows about my situation at Ajax, but now is not the time to talk about that.
"If it was to happen that I play there next season or in the future at some point it would be like a dream come true."
Sneijder also revealed that he has talked at length with Ajax's Catalan duo, Roger and Gabri, in order to learn more about the league.
"I have talked to them a lot because they know so much about the Spanish league."

Super Angry Sneijder
Quote:
Wesley Sneijder appears to be at odds with Ajax over Valencia's failed bid for his services.
The Che had been speaking to Ajax for some time about the talented midfielder, but their bid hit the buffers over the weekend when the Amsterdam club confirmed a fee had not been agreed.
Ajax added that they expected Sneijder to knuckle down and show commitment to the club, but the 22-year-old seems intent on securing a transfer away from Amsterdam.
"Officially, I have heard nothing about it yet, but the last words have yet to be spoken about this," Sneijder told De Telegraaf.
"The only way to break with Ajax is by kicking up a fuss. But that's not my style."
Sneijder has a further two years to run on his contract and feels the time has come for Ajax to cash in.
He added: "This is the moment for a transfer."
"I have been playing in the first team at Ajax for five years. And surely Ajax don't want to let me walk out for free in two years' time?"

Weird stuff surrounding Valencia recently. Carboni is trying to sign Sneijder for about £8m but Quique publicly said last week that he didn't want Sneijder and he had no say in this.
It's an internal battle between Carboni the Sporting Director and Quique Flores the manager which has been going on for over a year. One with leave in the summer. At the moment the momentum is with Carboni as we can tell by these negotiations and that the fans booed Quique after they lost 3-2 to Villarreal last week. Probable replacement is Bernd Schuster if he doesn't join Real Madrid.
Schuster or Quique as manager, Silva out for £12m? Trezeguet/Saviola in? Sneijder in for £8m? A lot will happen at Valencia this summer.

Flores The Shock Winner In Valencia "War"
Quote:
Valencia have made a decision in reference to the "war" between Quique Flores and Amedeo Carboni, with the manager coming out on top.
Valencia’s official website published an article that outlined they will be undertaking new policies, that would include the presentation of a new sporting director, and more importantly high quality reinforcements for next season.
During the season there were lots of incidents between the manager and the sporting director, and something had to be done before next season.
Finally they went with Quique, and he will prepare the club’s new season along with their new sporting director, that is likely to be either Fernando Gomez Colomer or Toni Munoz.
The text came to a conclusion that Carboni’s time had ended, by stating: “Likewise, and inside the politics of the club we will shortly announce the name of our new sporting director, who will reinforce and strengthen the sporting politics of Valencia…”
It is unknown whether Carboni will abandon the club, or continue in another role.

Goal.com - Valencia - Flores The Shock Winner In Valencia "War"
Quique wins the war which was a big suprise as it looked like Carboni had won. Which means that Timo Hildebrand's future is up in the air.
Quote:
Stuttgart goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand could be left out in the cold next season after Valencia dismissed general manager Amadeo Carboni.
The German shot-stopper is reported to have signed a contract with the Liga outfit, and is expected to be presented on June 30.
Carboni negotiated the deal to sign the 28-year-old, with coach Quique Sanchez Flores insisting he did not need a new goalkeeper.
The pair were often at loggerheads through the season, and the Hildebrand deal was thought to be another bone of contention.
Flores is expected to field Santiago Canizares as his number one next season, with Hildebrand handed a place on the bench at best.
Hildebrand helped Stuttgart claim the Bundesliga title last season.
|
Goal.com - Valencia - Uncertain Times For Hildebrand
Now that Quique is in charge it may be that he'll break the contract with Timo as he clearly doesn't want him. Bad news for Timo either way as he either doesn't have a club or he'll play as second keeper to Canizares all season.

Duo stay with Valencia
Quote:
Valencia duo David Silva and Ruben Baraja have pledged their futures to the club.
Highly-rated winger Silva has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at La Mestalla until 2013.
The news is sure to disappoint a host of clubs across Europe with Liverpool and Tottenham credited with an interest in the Spanish international.
The 21-year-old was happy to extend his stay at Valencia.
"I'm very happy to be here and to be able to continue at the club for years to come," Silva told the club's official website.
"I've been here since I was a child and regard it as home after so many years."
Long-serving midfielder Baraja has also signed a two-year extension to keep him at the club until 2010.
Baraja, who missed most of last season through injury, is delighted the club have given him a new deal despite his injury problems.
"I'm looking to the future, having been unable to play much this season," said Baraja.
"I hope that in the next three seasons I can repay the club's faith in me."

Goal.com - Valencia - Del Horno Heads Valencia's Unwanted List
Also they've stuck Del Horno, Curro Torres and David Navarro on the transfer list. They shouldn't have got Del Horno considering he was injured and he ended up being out until March.
If someone gets Del Horno for a few million then it could be a bargain if he regains his magical Athletic Bilbao form.

Valencia eye Taiwo and Helguera
Quote:
Valencia have targetted Marseille full-back Taye Taiwo and Real Madrid's Iván Helguera after deciding that Asier Del Horno, Curro Torres and David Navarro have no future at the club.
Coach Quique Sánchez Flores has informed the trio that they are surplus to requirements and the hunt has begun for their replacements.
Taiwo is at the top of the list for a new left-back after his impressive displays over the past two seasons in Ligue 1.
The 22-year-old Nigerian international has been the subject of interest from Internazionale, but the Italian club have not registered a bid.
Flores had Taiwo watched during the last weeks of the season and the technical staff at Valencia all agree that he fits the profile that they want.
While the former Lobi Stars player is non-EU, los Ché will not consider that to be an obstacle as they still have free spaces.
Taiwo rose to prominence during the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championships as Nigeria reached the final and he was named as the third best player behind John Obi Mikel and Lionel Messi.
Negotiations to sign Helguera are continuing as Bernd Schuster has designated that the former Espanyol centre-back is not a key part of his plans.
The arrival of Pepe and Christoph Metzelder at Madrid has seen Helguera's position at the club become untenable and he is set to leave before pre-season begins.
Another new arrival at Mestalla could be Porto midfielder Lucho González and Valencia are confident that a deal can be wrapped up this week.

Helguera would make sense I think as he's experienced and they need an experienced CB considering Ayala and Navarro are going and their starting CB's next season will be Alexis and Raul Albiol who are only 21.
I don't know much about Taiwo but I think the Lucho Gonzalez deal could be wrapped up in the next week.

Del Horno eyes Bilbao return
Quote:
Asier Del Horno has insisted that he will only leave Valencia to join a club of equal standing or to move back to Athletic Bilbao.
The Spain international has been told he has no future at La Mestalla but is refusing to be sold to a club he has no interest in joining.
Valencia have mooted the idea of a season-long-loan at Athletic and are in negotiations with the Basque Country outfit, with the talks ongoing.
"They talked with Valencia, but it does not appear that any agreement has been reached," the player's brother and agent, David Del Horno, said.
"The agreement has to be between Athletic and Valencia. There is not much more we can do, although Asier is ready.
"The problem is that it is not us that has started all this. They have to find a solution, but football is always changing."
The former Chelsea defender was linked with a move to Barcelona earlier in July but Del Horno took the news with a pinch of salt.
Del Horno added: "That surprised me a lot because they have just signed (Eric) Abidal and I do not understand why they would want another left-back."
While the Valencia squad continue pre-season training in Holland, Del Horno has remained in Spain in order to regain full fitness.
The 26-year-old joined Valencia in July 2006 from Chelsea and signed a five-year deal but the full-back picked up a thigh injury which caused him to miss the majority of last season.

Valencia's Del Horno Rejects Bayern Switch
Quote:
Out-of-favour defender Asier del Horno is surplus to requirements at the Mestalla. However, the player had made it very clear that he'll only leave for a club that's suitable to him. German giants Bayern Munich, seemingly, is not one of these...
Following on from earlier news regarding Asier del Horno's stringent transfer demands, the international defender has now rejected a transfer to Bavarian cracks Bayern Munich.
The left back reportedly told the Valencia management that he has no intention of moving to Germany. Mindful of negative experiences in London with Chelsea, he does not want to leave Spain again.
The only way he'd consider a move abroad is if he was duly compensated. Seemingly, Valencia seem unwilling to meet his expectations in this regard.
Despite arriving in a high-profile move from Stamford Bridge last summer, Asier failed to make an impact in the Valencia first team, starting just six league matches after recovering from injury.
Now, his relationship with coach Quique Flores is apparently at a low point. The player, who has five years left on his deal, sees no reason to make things easy for the club, reasoning that this situation is of their making, and not his.
The defender would apparently love to return to Athletic Bilbao, with whom he spent five years, if an appropriate deal can be reached.
For now, however, Bayern are yet another European club who have no hope of landing Asier del Horno.

Bilbao are better than Bayern then
Why the hell would Bayern need another wingback when they have Jansen, Lahm and Sagnol?

Morientes Used To Woo Källstrom
Quote:
Valencia's bid to prise Kim Källstrom away from Olympqiue Lyonnais is only liukely to succeed if they throw Fernando Morientes into the deal.
The French club are reluctant to allow their Swedish midfield star to leave and are prepared to play hardball as talks continue with los Ché.
With Porto demanding €25m for Lucho González, Valencia have dropped their interest and turned their attentions to Källstrom.
Lyon want at least €12m for the 24-year-old and were considering making him untransferable when the Spanish outfit first made their interest known.
Having already soild Éric Abidal and Florent Malouda this summer, president Jean-Michel Aulas will only accept bids above the market rate for his remaining stars.
The arrival of Javier Arizmendi at Mestalla has meant that Morientes has slipped down the pecking order and Lyon have asked about his availability.
Valencia coach, Quique Sánchez Flores, wants a midfielder to organise the team and while Lucho is considered to be more attacking, Källstrom's vision and range of passing suits los Ché's style.
Lyon are intent on not letting the player, who only joined them last summer from Stade Rennais, go without a fight.

Kallstrom would be an interesting signing but I don't think he's the creative CM they're looking for.

Valencia In For Juve's Boumsong?
Former Rangers and Newcastle United stopper Jean-Alain Boumsong could be on the way to Valencia - that is, of course, if Spanish newspaper AS gets it right for once...
Notorious Spanish sports daily AS claims that Juventus outcast Jean-Alain Boumsong could be on his way to the Mestalla.
The Frenchman arrived at the Stadio delle Alpi at the beginning of last season to ensure Juve's return to the top flight after their enforced relegation following the Calciopoli scandal.
Despite playing in most league ties, Boumsong failed to impress many at the Old Lady, and is set to be moved on before the summer's end.
Juve have strengthened their back line with the acquisition of Depor's Jorge Andrade, further hastening Boumsong's potential departure.
With new coach Claudio Ranieri apparently eager to rid himself of the former Auxerre man, Valencia - should their interest prove concrete - could yet land the defender for a low price.
27 year old Boumsong started his career with Le Havre, before moving to AJA. A free move to Rangers followed, prior to his big-money transfer to Newcastle United. He has 21 caps for the French national team.
It is thought that Boumsong could be tempted by a move away from Italy. However, Los Che seem set to first acquire the player on a loan deal, with a purchase option to follow later... if, of course, there is any truth in this latest AS rumour.
