English Press: David Villa Determined To Leave Valencia
Quote:
The Daily Mirror claims to have heard from David Villa that the Valencia star wants to quit the Mestalla, perhaps in favour of a move to England...
An English newspaper claims that David Villa has his heart set on a 27.5 million euro move to the Premiership.
The Daily Mirror quotes Villa as follows: "It is impossible for me to carry on."
When and in what context this was allegedly spoken is unclear, but the Mirror reports that Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are watching the situation with interest.
Villa's agent has previously hinted that his client is unhappy with the major squad upheavals at the Mestalla, with the forward preferring to be at a winning team, rather than one that's rebuilding.
And while his release clause is thought to be around the nine-figure mark, the Valencia hierarchy may let him go for less than that if he's thought to be unhappy, and thus unable to play at his best.
Whether or not Villa has truly remarked publicly regarding his unhappiness remains to be seen, but what is almost certain is that several clubs - English or otherwise - will be monitoring the situation closely.

Chelsea Tracking €30m Villa
Quote:
A report in this morning's Sun claims Chelsea have reignited their interest in Spanish striker David Villa and are willing to part with as much as €30m to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Despite the fact that the Blues are only three points off the top of the Premier League and find themselves in the semi-finals of the Champions League for the fourth time in five years, massive changes are expected at Chelsea this summer.
Striker Substitutions
Whether there is a change of manager remains to be seen, but up front expensive flop Andriy Shevchenko seems certain to return to Italy, with Didier Drogba also likely to quit the club for either Serie A or La Liga.
Claudio Pizarro could also be on his way, but Chelsea bosses have highlighted Valencia striker David Villa as the man they want to partner Nicolas Anelka next season. The Sun report that the Stamford Bridge outfit have already been in contact with 26-year-old Villa's representatives, citing the player's keenness to play in the Premier League.
Succeed Where Mourinho Failed?
Villa was linked with a move to England - and Chelsea - two seasons ago when José Mourinho targeted him only for Valencia to refuse to do a deal. But things have changed now at the Spanish club, which after a troubled season finds itself in 14th spot in the league. With no chance of Champions League football next season many of the higher profile stars may want out of the club, while Valencia themselves may be willing to take the cash to start anew.
Villa has been in consistent form this season despite Valencia's woes and recently came off the bench to hit the winning goal in Spain's friendly triumph over Italy.

Goal.com - Valencia - Chelsea Tracking €30m Villa
Chelsea probably have Drogba and Sheva leaving and possibly Pizza too so a new striker is a priority and I think they can do no better for the price and quality than David Villa. He's better than Torres when both on form and will probably want to leave Valencia after this dreadful season so I think it's a must that Chelsea go for him and beating Madrid for his signature.

Villa: We Will Win The Copa
Valencia striker David Villa is confident that his side will beat Racing at the weekend and then win the Copa Del Rey on Wednesday night.
The Spanish star has been excellent for both club and country this season however his Valencia side have been poor in La Liga.
Villa admits that everyone should take responsibility for his side’s failures and not just the defenders.
“I am hopeful that we are going to win on Saturday and on Wednesday and I hope it happens,” Villa told Sport ES.
“I have been really well and I will be in the squad for the game against Racing.
“Yes, it’s true that we have been having problems and that we have conceded plenty but that is the whole team’s problem and not just the defenders.
“Disorganisation has affected us but we all have to be responsible for it.
“As for the Euro’s I have no problem with Raul, in fact we have played well together.
“As for the number seven Spain jersey, the number doesn’t really make a difference, what is most important is that I play for Spain as it is one of the best things a player can do.”
Valencia are currently fourteenth in La Liga and seven points from the drop zone.

I don't think you'll see Villa - Drogba but Villa - Anelka should be enough
He can make it in the Prem in a way Torres has simply because he's a better player and he's available for about the same price.

Villa is older, yes? i definitely think that Villa would cope, but I hope he comes to Chelsea and not to Spurs. Will depend on who we have as a manager at the time as well...
Will he be involved in the Spanish team in Euro 08 or is Torres the lone striker?

Villa is 26, Torres 23. I'd probably bet my house on Villa not moving to Spurs. Chelsea are the favourites, followed by Real Madrid, AC Milan and then him staying at Valencia. 4 options.
I think Aragones will go for the 4-4-2 he keeps playing with Joaquin RW, Iniesta or Silva LW with Xavi/Iniesta CM with a DM like Albelda or Senna. Villa should start upfront with Torres.
Problem for Aragones is the midfield has too many good players in. Dropping Cesc Fabregas for other National teams would be unthinkable.
If he does revert to the 4-3-3 sometimes tho then I think he will drop Villa on his form to the much better formed out Torres.

Villa Tells Arsenal To Make Their Move
Quote:
Spanish international David Villa has made it clear he's ready and willing to leave Valencia for England this summer. Chelsea are said to be interested, but the striker really wants to join Arsenal or, failing that, Liverpool.
The 26-year-old is thought to be high on Chelsea manager Avram Grant's wishlist, with a bid of around €30m being planned and the UK press reporting that an approach by the Blues has already been made.
Villa has hit 63 goals for Valencia over the past three seasons and has been one of the few los Che players to perform consistently this year.
Arsenal Are Terrific
But while he is keen to try his luck in the Premier League, the striker has admitted it's Chelsea's London rivals Arsenal he'd really like to join.
“I watch the Premier League a lot and the team I’m most attracted to is definitely Arsenal," said Villa. "Their brilliant one and two-touch football and the whole style of rapid counter-attack which dominates the top level of the Premier League now is the one which suits my game best of all.
"I think I’m made to succeed in England but of course it’s one thing saying it and quite another getting there and then doing it. The Valencia president always told me he wouldn’t sell me until summer 2008," Villa added. "If an offer comes in I’m hungry to test myself in England.”
Liverpool Ahead Of Chelsea
The striker said that if it were to prove impossible to join Arsenal this summer then his next preference would be Liverpool, where he could link up with international team mate Fernando Torres. “It’s great playing alongside Fernando. We understand each other totally and we get on brilliantly off the park.”

Suprised he has come out so publicly but I wasn't considering Arsenal to get him when maybe I should have. I still think Chelsea are the favourites.

He's too expensive for Arsenal, and he doesn't seem to like Chelsea that much if arsenal and liverpool are ahead of them..
I hope he goes to Liverpool. They need some more players of torres's calibre.

Arsenal don't spend big but to contend for the title all the way they may have to. I think Liverpool need 4 positions or so over striker so I'm not sure they'll go for him.
Also change your sig, it's been 4 months but it still hurts

i'll change it in around 2 weeks time when we beat you again
True, and I don't think they'll (liverpool) be willing to spend that much in that position again, but i'd like to see him there

El Madrid ofrece 30 millones más Granero o De la Red por Villa - Marca.com
Madrid offered 25m and Baptista which has been rejected by Valencia. They have now offered 30m plus Granero and de la Red. Valencia are holding out for closer to 40m.
I think Villa to Real Madrid looks like it may happen.
