David Villa believes that Valencia have had enough problems of their own this season, without having to focus on events at Camp Nou this week.
The Spanish international striker is relishing the prospect of facing FC Barcelona this weekend, but is not worrying about how the Catalan outfit are preparing for the game.
While the fracas with Samuel Eto'o has been dealt with, los Ché have had to contend with several long-term injuries that jeopardised their title push.
On Sunday, Valencia have a chance to regain some ground on the league leaders as Barça visit Mestalla in what promises to be a tantalising encounter.
"We have enough on our plate wihout worrying about our opponents' problems," he said.
"I would love to be in crisis and have a seven point lead over our rivals."
Despite tasting defeat in two of their last three league games, Villa is confident that Valencia can return to winning ways against Barça.
"We do not think about losing," he stated. "It will be a great game, I am sure, but we need the points to be able to challenge for the top again.
"It is two very strong teams playing, but we are confident that we know how to play against them."
Villa has become something of a thorn in the Blaugrana's side and last season he scored all three goals in the two meetings between the teams as Valencia picked up four points from a win and a draw.
This weekend, however, the 25-year-old does not mind who hits the target as long as his team wins.
"I always say the same thing about scoring goals," he stated. If I score and help the team win then that is perfect.
"We are all united here and we always think as a group before thinking about individual matter. The atmosphere is great."
