Default Flores Tells Del Horno To Sort Himself Out

Quique Sánchez Flores has told Asier Del Horno to take a look at himself before criticising others after the defender hit out at the Valencia coach recently.

The Mestalla boss was infuriated after hearing the former Chelsea full-back claim that he would only return to the club if there was a change of coach.

Del Horno was shipped out on loan to Athletic Bilbao for a year at the end of the transfer window and then publicly critcised Flores once he was back at San Mamés.

Clearly unimpressed, Flores has hit back by telling the former Spain international to consider why he is playing for his third club in three seasons.

"He should think about why in two years, two different coaches have not wanted him to stay at their club," Flores said, reflecting on José Mourinho's decision to let him leave after just a season at Stamford Bridge.

Since joining Valencia in the summer of 2006, Del Horno struggled to overcome a thigh injury and only played five games last season.

At the start of pre-season training, the 26-year-old was made to train on his own as a new club was sought for him before a sudden turnaround saw him called back to the squad.

Despite that, Del Horno jumped at the chance to return to Athletic and then spoke out about his feelings towards the Valencia coach.

"If I talk about this then I will only make it worse and we will waste a lot of time," Flores continued.

"It is better that I do not say any more and I do not want to because I have more sense."
