NORTH CAROLINA 6, HIGH POINT 1
CHAPEL HILL, NC---The North Carolina Tar Heels scored four goals in the first 23 minutes enroute to a 6-1 win over High Point.

Whitney Engen scored in the 14th and 23rd minutes and also assisted on a goal in the 15th by Casey Nogueira. Meghan Klingenberg scored in the 20th minute, and Rachel Given and Yael Averbuch added second half goals. Amy Anzovino had the only tally for the Panthers in the 55th minute.

UNC GREENSBORO 1, MEMPHIS 0
CHAPEL HILL, NC---Mary Kate Towne scored the only goal to lead the UNC Greensboro Spartans to a 1-0 win over the Memphis Tigers.

Spartans’ goalkeeper Katherine Ryan made seven saves to post the shutout.

NOTRE DAME 3, LOYOLA 0
SOUTH BEND, IND---Brittany Bock scored two goals and Kerri Hanks assisted on al three tallies as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (16-4-2) defeated the Loyola Ramblers (14-9-1) 3-0 at Alumni Field Friday.

Bock opened the scoring in the 38th minute putting in a rebound off a header by Amanda Cinalli. Carrie Dew scored on a header off a corner by Bock in the 58th minute.

Bock added her second goal in the 60th minute running onto a through ball from hanks before shooting to the far left.

ILLINOIS 1, LOUISVILLE 0
SOUTH BEND, Ind. –Illinois Fighting Illini advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament thanks to a golden goal off the head of senior forward Ella Masar, as the Illini topped the Louisville Cardinals, 1-0, in the opening round matchup.

After the two teams played to a scoreless tie through regulation, Masar delivered the game-winning blow on a cross from sophomore forward Chichi Nweke in the 92nd minute of play.

The win marks the fourth year in a row that the Illini (12-6-2) have advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. With the shutout, senior goalkeeper Lindsey Carstens tied her career-best of 11 shutouts set last season. The team’s 12th shutout of the season is one shy of the single-season record set in 2003.

PURDUE 4, OAKLAND 0
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - No. 8 Purdue (20-2-2) won its first NCAA Tournament match since 2003 with a 4-0 shutout of Oakland (10-8-2) Friday afternoon at the Varsity Soccer Complex.

Purdue opened the scoring in thr 48th minute on Jessica Okoroafo header. Loredana Riverso provided back-to-back assists to Sylvia Forbes and Felicia Schroeder in the 78th and 82nd minutes, then scored her team-leading 13th goal of the year in the 84th minute off an assist from Kira Bilecky.

INDIANA 3, TOLEDO 2
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Kristin Arnold netted a golden goal in the 108th minute to lift the Indiana Hoosiers (13-6-2) to a 3-2 overtime victory over Toledo in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Katy Stewart put the Hoosiers on the board in the 10th minute. Jocelyn Moses made it 2-0 in the 39th minute. The Rockets fought back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game with a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes of regulation. Molly Cornwell scored her 15th goal of the season in the 76th minute and Suzi Siwinski scored the equalizer with less than sic minutes to play.

GEORGIA 6, ALABAMA A&M 1
ATHENS, Ga---Rachel Barstow and Carrie Patterson each scored two goals to lead the Georgia Bulldogs to a 6-1 win over the Alabama A&M Bulldogs Friday.

Maria Crase also scored for UGA, who took a 3-0 lead in the first 19 minutes. The other UGA goal came off an own goal from a corner kick. Alberta Annan had the only goal for Alabama A&M in the 31st minute.

DUKE 1, SOUTH CAROLINA 1 (4-2pks)
ATHENS, GA. - For the second straight year, the Duke women's soccer team advanced to the second round of the NCAA College Cup off penalty kicks as the Blue Devils registered a 4-1 penalty kick win over 23rd-ranked South Carolina (14-6-3) at the Turner Soccer Complex in Athens, Ga. Out of the last eight appearances in the NCAA College Cup, Duke (9-5-7) has advanced to the second round in each of them.

Lorraine Quinn gave Duke the lead in the 64th minute with a 20-yard shot that hit the top shelf just inside the left panel for her fourth goal of the season and first of her career in the NCAA Tournament. South Carolina evened the score as Brittiny Rhodes found Blakeley Mattern for her second goal of the season in the 66th minute.

TEXAS 2, BYU 0
COLLEGE STATION, TX---Freshman forward Alisha Ortiz scored two first-half goals to propel Texas past No. 24 Brigham Young, 2-0, in the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship First Round at Aggie Soccer Stadium on Thursday.

TEXAS A&M 4, STEPHEN F. AUSTIN 1
COLLEGE STATION, TX---Senior forward Ashlee Pistorius broke the Texas A&M career record for goals scored (81) and total points (194) as she led the Aggie soccer team (18-3-2) to a 4-1 victory over the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks (13-5-2) to advance to NCAA Second Round play on Thursday night at the Aggie Soccer Stadium.

FLORIDA STATE 3, KENNESAW STATE 0
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.---Sanna Talonen scored all three goals to lead the Florida State Seminoles to a 3-0 win over Kennesaw State. Mami Yamaguch assisted on all three goals.

Talonen’s goals came in the 12th, 15th and 27th minutes, making her only the second FSU player to record a hat trick in the NCAA Tournament.

LSU 1, SAMFORD 0
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Roslyn Jones scored a goal off a rebound in the 107th minute in double overtime, to give the Louisiana State Tigers a 1-0 win over Samford on Friday.

STANFORD 7, SACRAMENTO STATE 0
PALO ALTO, Calif---Christen press scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Stanford Cardinal to a 7-0 win over Sacramento Friday.

Kelly O’Hara, and own goal, Lizzie George, Kristin Stannard and Mimi Yuhas accounted for the other Cardinal scoring.

CALIFORNIA 2, SANTA CLARA 0
PALO ALTO, Calif.---Nikki Schrey and McKenna McKetty both scored the lead the California Golden Bears to a 2-0 win over the Santa Clara Broncos (12-6-3) Friday night.

Schrey gave the Bears (15-5) the lead in the 42nd minute, and McKetty added her goal in the 72nd.

CONNECTICUT 0, BOSTON COLLEGE 0 (5-4 pks)
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College Eagles (11-5-4) played the Connecticut Huskies (12-5-2) to a scoreless tie before falling in penalty kicks Friday in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

WAKE FOREST 2, BOSTON UNIVERSITY 1
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Allie Sadow scored the game winner off of a rebound in the 56th minute to give the Wake Forest Demon Deacons a 2-1 win over the Boston
Boston University Terriers (11-7-3) Friday.

Midfielder Amy Smerdzinski put Wake Forest up 1-0 in just the seventh minute. BU tied the game in the 49th minute, when Maria Osher finished off a great cross from Meredith Beaton.

PENN STATE 4, MONMOUTH 0
STATE COLLEGE, Pa.--- Senior Aubrey Aden-Buie and freshman Danielle Toney both scored two goals to lead the Penn State Nittany Lions to s 4-0 win over the Monmouth Hawks.

HOFSTRA 1, OHIO STATE 0
STATE COLLEGE. Pa. -- Junior midfielder Edel Malone scored the game’s only goal and junior goalkeeper Krystal Robens set school records with her seventh successive shutout and her 12th shutout of the season as Hofstra recorded a 1-0 win over Ohio State in the opening round of the NCAA Division I tournament in sub-freezing temperatures on Friday night.

WEST VIRGINIA 4, NAVY 0
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –Deanna Everrett scored two goals to lead the West Virginia Mountaineers to s 4-0 win over the Navy Midshipmen (14-5-4) at Dick Dlesk Field Friday.

Ashley Banks gave the Mountaineers (16-4-2) the lead in the 8th minute. Everret made it 2-0 in the 50th minute, scoring from 10 yards out. Kim Bonilla spun and shot from 18 yards to make it 3-0 in the 59th minute, and Everett added another goal in the 65th minute.

JAMES MADISON 2, PENN 0
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – James Madison scored two goals early in the second half to eliminate the Penn Quakers 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA College Cup Friday.

Annie Lowry gave the Dukes (17-4-1 )the lead in the 50th minute, taking a cross from Melanie Schaffer before turning and taking a shot from 15 yards out. Lowry set up the second James Madison goal in the 51st minute, sending the ball to Cate Tisinger who one-timed it from 6-yards out to bottom left of the net. Penn's season ends at 13-4-1.

USC 3, CREIGHTON 0
COLUMBIA, MO--- Amy Rodriguez, Marihelen Tomer and Lauren Brown each scored as the USC Trojans (15-3-2) dominated the Creighton Blue Jays (11-8-2) 3-0.

The Women of Troy outshot Creighton 37-4 as USC goalkeeper Kristin Olsen picked up her eighth shutout of the season.

MISSOURI 1, SOUTH EASTERN MISSOURI STATE 1 (2-0 pks)
COLUMBIA, Mo--- The Missouri Tigers advanced to the second round of the NCAA’s defeating South Eastern Missouri in 2-0 in penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw Friday night.

Michelle Collins scored an unassisted goal in the 17th minute to give MU a 1-0 lead. Courtney Alexander equalized in the 43rd. Kat Tarr and Mallory Forst converted on the pks.

FLORIDA 3, MIAMI 0
GAINESVILLE, Fl—Karly Findorff scored two goals to lead the Florida Gators to a 3-0 win over the Miami Hurricanes in front of 1,203 at James G. Pressly Stadium Friday.

Ashley Harris scored the other goal for the Gators (17-4-2). Miami finishes the season at 9-7-5.

UCF 3, AUBURN 1
GAINESVILLE, Fl---Central Florida's Becca Thomas netted a pair of goals to lead a 3-1 win over Auburn on Friday night.

Thomas opened the scoring in the 10th minute on a 23 yard free kick from the right side. Amanda Martorana added a goal in the 43rd minute, and Thomas made it 3-0 in the 49th. Caitlin King scored the lone goal for the Tigers (10-8-2) in the 88th minute. UCF is 15-4-3.


PORTLAND 5, DENVER 0
BOULDER, Colo--- Sophie Schmidt had two goals and Michelle Enyeart had a goal and two assists to lead the Portland Pilots to s 5-0 win over the Denver Pioneers Friday.

Kendra Chandhoke opened the Pilots scoring in the 30th minute and Angie Woznuk added a goal in the 41st. Schmidt scored in the 60th and 64th. Enyeart closed out the scoring in the 89th as Portland (16-3-0) outshot Denver (12-5-4) 29-6.

COLORADO 2, HAWAII 0
BOULDER, Colo--- Junior Gianna DeSaverio scored the game winner on a header in the 11th minute as the Colorado Buffaloes defeated Hawaii 2-0 on Friday.

DeSaverios’s goal was the first goal the Rainbow Wahine (15-5-2) had allowed in six matches. Mai Hicks added a goal in the 61st minute. Michaela DeJesus assisted on both Colorado (10-7-4) goals.

TENNESSEE 2, FURMAN 0
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.-- Sophomore midfielder Mick Imgram and junior forward Kylee Rossi each registered goals as the Tennessee Lady Volunteers (14-4-2) shutout the Furman Paladins (16-6-1) 2-0.

For junior goalkeeper Jaimel Johnson, the victory was the 20th of her career and the shutout was her 14th.

CLEMSON 4, CHARLOTTE 2
KNOXVILLE, TN – The Clemson Lady Tigers came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Charlotte 4-2 on Friday night. Clemson scored three goals in the first 11 minutes of the second half to take a 3-2 lead and scored a fourth in the 67th minute of the game.

Senior Courtney Foster scored two goals and senior Elizabeth Jobe and junior Julie Bolt added one apiece for Clemson.

UCLA 3, CAL-STATE FULLERTON 1
LOS ANGELES - Junior midfielder Christina DiMartino had a hand in all three Bruins goals, as top-ranked UCLA(17-1-2) recorded a 3-1 victory over Cal State Fullerton on Friday evening in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Drake Stadium.

UCLA jumped out to an early lead, scoring in just the fifth minute on a goal by forward Kristina Larsen. McCall Zerboni made it 2-0 a little more than three minutes later and DiMartino got a goal of her own in the 39th minute on a penalty kick.

Fullerton (12-8-2) avoided the shutout in the 84th minute, on a goal by Christina Murillo.

OKLAHOMA STATE 2, SAN DIEGO 1
LOS ANGELES---The Oklahoma State Cowgirls scored two second half goals to defeat the San Diego Toreros 2-1 Friday night.

Jen Mello gave San Diego (15-3-3) the lead in the 10th minute. OSU (14-5-3) equalized on a goal buy Siera Strawser in the 57th minute, the got the game winner from Kasey Langdon in the 86th minute.

VIRGINIA 4, LOYOLA (Maryland) 1
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA---The Virginia Cavaliers scored four times in the second half to advance to the second round of the NCAA for the 15th consecutive year with a 4-1 win over Loyola at Klockner Stadium Friday.

Nikki Krzysik scored her third goal of the season in the 51st minute for a 1-0 Virginia lead, but the Greyhounds equalized two minutes later on a goal by Theresa Ferraina.

Kelly Quinn scored the game winner in the 56th minute, and Shannon Foley and Julia Folk added tallies in the 74th and 89th minutes.


WILLIAM & MARY 2, GEORGETOWN 1
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Kaitlin O’Connor scored in the 5th minute and Claire Zimmeck added a goal in the 60th to lead William and Mary to a 2-1 win over Georgetown, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday evening at Klockner Stadium

The Hoyas cut the Tribe’s lead in half in the 78th minute when Sara Jordan scored on a loose ball in front of the goal on the left side.
