USA WOMEN'S NEWS, RESULTS
the Women's league never work with the men, schedule tv games at the same time, they pick to be under this management instead of the MLS should the MLS save the league?
"On Sunday, this could be the end of something really terrific in San
Jose. All these people who have been so supportive of us the last
three years deserve a place to come. I hope it gets done. We are not
done fighting for it, to keep it. We need it to exist."
-- San Jose CyberRays' Brandi Chastain on the possibility of the WUSA
folding after the season. Owners of three of the eight teams are
reportedly seeking to sell their interests in the women's league.

I'm not sure when the WUSA is on but I do know that most MLS games are on Saturday. Why dont they just show most of the WUSA on Sunday and some games on Saturday? If its already like this then I apologize because I am not an advide follower of MLS or WUSA even though I do live in the good ol' U.S.

Women's soccer league suspends operations
September 15, 2003
ATLANTA (AP) -- The WUSA shut down operations five days before the Women's World Cup, saying it didn't have enough money to stay in business for a fourth season.
The decision, made by the league's board of governors Monday at a meeting in New York, brings to an abrupt end the league that built on the success of the 1999 Women's World Cup.
The eight-team WUSA was filled with the world's best female soccer players, including U.S. stars Mia Hamm, Brandi Chastain and Julie Foudy. Chastain provided the signature moment in the '99 tournament when she ripped off her shirt after scoring the championship-winning goal against China.

But the attention the Women's World Cup received faded over the years, leaving the WUSA foundering.
``A shortfall in sponsorship revenue and insufficient revenue from other core areas of the business proved to be the hurdles which the WUSA could not overcome in time for planning the 2004 season,'' John Hendricks, chairman of the WUSA board of governors, said in a statement.
Owners of the Atlanta-based WUSA invested more than $100 million to fund the league, and some of the top players took pay cuts this season to help keep it afloat.
The timing of the move seemed surprising, but the WUSA said it was ``in everyone's best interest to make an immediate decision and announcement.''
The Women's World Cup begins Saturday in Philadelphia, and the U.S. team opens the next day against Sweden at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. Fifty-six WUSA players are to compete in the tournament.
The Women's World Cup had been scheduled for China but was moved because of the SARS outbreak.
The WUSA was formed as a partnership between the owners and players, who took an active role in league management.
``The impact of the WUSA on women's sports and millions of fans has been extraordinary,'' said Foudy, captain of the San Diego Spirit and U.S. team, and a member of the WUSA board of governors.
The league had franchises in: Boston, Atlanta, San Diego, Washington, New York, San Jose, North Carolina and Philadelphia. The Washington Freedom won the title last month.
Foudy said she hoped publicity surrounding the Women's World Cup would help generate support that could revive the WUSA.
``The positive impact our sport has had on youth players, both boys and girls, and their perception of women and athletics, has been inspiring to experience firsthand,'' she said

WUSA's dead and WNBA is in it's death rattle stage and will last at the most 3 more years. Right or wrong there is next to no interest in women's sports.

I should say there is no long term interest in womens sports, The WC can and most likely will be a hit but week in and week out next to no one wants to watch women play sports.
