Match just made official on FIFA.com and was reported within the last 48 hours by the AFA's website. Argentina will play Mexico in San Diego on June 4th before flying to NY to play the USA in preparation for their subsequent World Cup qualifying matches against Ecuador and Brazil.

The match will also be a mere 4 days after the US returns from Sevilla after their match against Spain.

Since this is a Sunday game I assume it will be an afternoon match and shouldn't result in too much jetlag, especially with time moving backwards.

I cant wait to go to this game, it's going to be awesome!

I expect both teams to be a bit tired, USA will have two games in Europe against Spain and England immediately preceding the Argentina clash; and not to mention Argentina have a few matches against Jamaica and Mexico preceeding their match against the US.

I believe Barcas season ends in late May because of Euro...and because Argentina's WCQ is just a week or so afterwards, I'd have to say an appearance by him is pretty likely. Ives expects both teams to field a full squad against both Mexico and the USA.

Leo messi won't play -- euros is just around the corner, so he will start preparation.

So which European nation do you expect the Argentine to play for?

Besides...friendly games ARE preparation for major tourneys and WCQ. If I had to guess, I'd say that he'll most likely play...perhaps the USSF made it a stipulation that Argentina has to bring their stars.
