U.S. is in Group A of the 2007 CONCACAF Final Round Qualifying Tournament with Guatemala, Haiti and the host Panama. The top two teams in the group will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada, which will take place from June 30-July 22 across six cities – Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton, Burnaby and Victoria. The U.S. will be attempting to qualify for their sixth straight FIFA World Cup (formerly FIFA World Youth Championship),

The other two of the four CONCACAF berths (not including Canada which gets an automatic berth as host) will come from Group B, which will occur a month later from Feb. 21-25 in Culiacan, Sinaloa, located on the west coast of Mexico. Competing with the hosts will be Costa Rica, St. Kitts & Nevis and the winner between a two-game series between Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago.

The 2007 CONCACAF Under-20 Final Round Qualification Group A is set to take place at the Rommel Fernández Stadium in Panama City, Panama from 17-21 January.

Panama, which is hosting its third overall CONCACAF U-20 qualifying event, will greet Guatemala, Haiti and USA in Group A, from which two teams will progress to the FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 from 30 June – 12 July.

The other two CONCACAF representatives to the FIFA tournament will come from the CONCACAF U-20 Group B as Costa Rica, Jamaica, St. Kitts & Nevis and the hosts Mexico compete at the Carlos González y González Stadium in Culiacán, Sinaloa from 21-25 February.

The CONCACAF U-20 Group A begins on 17 January, when Haiti meets USA at 18:30, while Panama faces Guatemala at 20:30. The USA takes on Guatemala at 18:30 two days later and then Panama greets Haiti at 20:30. Group A concludes on 21 January, when Guatemala plays against Haiti at 16:00 and then Panama hosts USA at 18:00.

From 1962 – 1996, CONCACAF staged 16 Under-20 Tournaments with a winner being crowned in each.
