Well, Eddie Lewis, who is naturally a left winger, is set to play LB for us, so I doubt it would be much of a problem. I just don't see it happening, we'll be playing a four man backline.
We've got 8 players who are pretty much guaranteed to start in Keller, Lewis, Onyewu, Pope, Cherundolo, Reyna, Donovan, and McBride. After that it's pick 3 out of Beasley, O'Brien, Johnson, Mastroeni, Convey and Dempsey and sort out the formation.

Possibly, but we're going to see three different teams, and possibly three different formations in group play. Each game we'll have an exact plan for each opponent.

The last time we had a number of players who were down. This time I have 23 choices."
-- U.S. national team coach Bruce Arena, saying he hasn't ruled out anyone to start in the opening game of the World Cup against the Czech Republic on Monday. Four years ago, captain Claudio Reyna missed the opener against Portugal, and other players had injuries going into the tournament.
"You can't believe everything you read in the papers.”
-- Arena on reports that the Czechs could be without three or four key players for the opener. Midfielder Pavel Nedved limped out of training on Thursday although Coach Karel Brueckner played down the injury. Forward Milan Baros missed training with a foot injury, and midfielders Tomas Rosicky and Tomas Galasek have battled injuries. In addition, midfielder Vladimir Smicer is out of the finals with a torn tendon in his leg.
2. WORLD CUP: U.S. players on their own
U.S. national team coach Bruce Arena is known to be a stickler for detail -- some might describe him as a micromanager -- but he gives his players pretty much free reign off the field.
One of the reasons he chose Hamburg as the USA’s home base at the World Cup is to allow them to get out on their own, and he isn’t stopping them.
"I sleep well at night," he said at a news conference at Hamburg’s Park Hyatt Hotel, U.S. team hotel in the heart of the city that is not far from the infamous Reeperbahn red light district. "I'm never concerned about these guys not respecting the opportunities given them to be at the World Cup. They're men and not little kids. I don't believe my job as coach is to make up rules and have to administer them. I'm not going to sit in the hotel lobby and check on curfew and all that c---. I don’t have time for that. They're responsible men."
