Hey now, Twellman should have scored last game, he's gotta be better than most options, but surely we have better midfielders than Quaranta...anyways my 11:

-----------------------Keller----------------------
Heydude--Berhalter--------Gooch--------Boca
----------------------Reyna----------------------
Ralston----------------------------------Beasley
-------------------Landycakes-------------------
------------Johnson---------McBride------------

Hahnemann, Conrad, Vanney, Mastroeni, Lewis, Dempsey, Twellman, Cunningham

True I know he is much better at CB than LB, but I think the drop from Boca to Berhalter isnt as bad as going from Boca to Vanney or Lewis...

Remember when away games were almost never carried? I know this is a home match, but it's amazing how much coverage we get now. Coverage of the men's team has improved greatly. I'd rather have it on ESPN or ESPN2, but at least it's on.

Dempsey, Reis, Mapp, Vanney and Marshall sent home, and may be recalled for Wednesday's match.

Is Beasley getting faster? I swear he is. Beas is damn good but imagine if his finishing was up to par how good would he be? He needed to finish that one on one with the keeper better. Gooch was just awesome but jesus could we put a weaker group of defenders out there for this important match? I didn't like the line-up but the job got done, can someone please explain how Armas is still on the NT? doesn't mattee we won and we made it to Germany.

We didn't have a strong line-up, we didn't play that well and beat them 2-0 and there coach is still talking smack. I love that he said "The U.S. is a small team," he said. "They play like my sister, my aunt and my grandmother." well what does that say for Mexico that they can't beat a team thats made up of players that play like his female family members? not much I guess.

Wow I have to disagree there. Onyewu was fantastic covering Borghetti -- the guy was barely in the game. The backline did a great job. IMO Hedjuk looked great and gave some well timed payback for the fouls on Beasley. Berhalter and Lewis also looked good.

Some of them may not be the starting four in Germany -- but calling them a weak group seems a bit harsh IMO.

I think you missed my point or I didn't explain myself quite as good as I should have. They did do a decent job and Gooch did a great job rendering Borghetti useless and thats the point because this group wasn't nearly our best group of defenders. Gooch was great, is great but Hedjuk is past his prime, Lewis is midfielder playing out of position and Berhalter while good, but he's not NT starting good. The way I see it the US only had 6 starters in there last night, Beas,Landon,McBride,Reyna,Gooch and Keller.

Maybe somewhere in between explanation and missing the point. I have to disagree with you (respectfully) about Hedjuk. I don't think he is past his prime. I think he showed last night he can give a quality performance against quality opposition. That said -- I am a Columbus fan -- but I don't care for him overall. I was not happy when he went to Columbus. I thought the money and the slot could have been better spent.
