"The U.S. National Team has essentially stopped scheduling games in Southern California and other areas with sizable Hispanic populations, which have tended to cheer for their countries of origin.

"The United States' most recent international matchups on home soil have happened in Columbus, Ohio, and New England. Other American sites scheduled for this round of qualifiers are June 4 at Salt Lake City; Aug. 17 in Hartford, Conn.; Sept. 3 at Columbus, Ohio; and Oct. 13 at a site to be determined.

how many from that group go straight into the WC2006

do the top 2 go automatically into the WC or the top 1 and the 2nd has to qualify?

Top three go through. Fourth has a playoff against AFC for a slot. That resulted when they took away the promised automatic bid for the OFC winner.

Good game Donovan solid again, Keller outstanding again, Ralston a beautiful cross and McB in the right place and took his chance good result in a tough stadium.
