Also played with Catolica. That's when I first heard of him. Now that's a tough move for a player in Chile. Catolica then Colo Colo. Walker gets my vote just for being brave!

5. WORLD: Denmark loses second game of California tour
Denmark closed its Southern California training camp Friday night with a 3-1 loss to Salvadoran club Aguila at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
Rudi Corrales and Alexander Campos scored second-half goals and Danish defender Martin Albrechtsen netted an own goal as Aguila, which begins play in the Salvadoran Clausura on Wednesday, finished its Southern California camp with an 0-1-1 mark.
Aguila played a 1-1 tie with the U.S. under-23 team a week earlier at East L.A. College. Denmark went 0-1-1 in Southern California, playing a 1-1 tie with the U.S. national team last Sunday at the Home Depot Center.
Tommy Bechmann scored for the Danes in second-half stoppage time. Coach Morten Olsen, without nearly all of his national team regulars, fielded a Superligaen all-star team in California.

U.S. MNT Readies for Amsterdam 26/01/04
U.S. Men’s National Team manager Bruce Arena has invited 17 players to participate in a training camp beginning Feb. 4 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The group will train for ten days prior to final roster selection and the departure for the USA’s first road match of 2004 against fourth-ranked Holland on Feb. 18 in Amsterdam.
Kickoff for the match at the Amsterdam ArenA is set for 2:30 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2. Fans can also follow the match on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker, presented by Philips Electronics.
The final roster for the Holland match will consist of a mix of European and domestic-based players, with a likely 20-man roster to be announced prior to the team’s departure for Amsterdam on Feb. 13. The foreign-based players will join the traveling contingent in Holland after completing club play the weekend of Feb. 13-15.
All 17 players on the Bradenton training camp roster were part of the group that recently completed an 18-day stint at the National Training Center in Carson, Calif. Eight players started in the USA’s 1-1 draw with Denmark at The Home Depot Center on Jan. 18, with MetroStars goalkeeper Jonny Walker forced to make only two saves in his international debut.
The Kansas City Wizards once again make the largest contribution, sending four players to Bradenton. Leading the Wizards contingent is forward Josh Wolff, whose appearance in the 62nd minute against Denmark marked his first minutes for the MNT since his start in the 2-0 victory against Mexico in the 2002 World Cup. Kerry Zavagnin ended a lengthier absence, his last time in the U.S. uniform coming nearly three years earlier.
MetroStars captain Eddie Pope holds top rank in the group, with 58 caps to his credit in an eight-year career with the senior team. Columbus Crew defender Frankie Hejduk and Chicago Fire captain Chris Armas close out the ‘over 50’ club, collecting 54 and 51 caps respectively.
Bradenton will host a bevy of soccer activity in the beginning of February, as four MLS teams will open their 2004 training camps while the U.S. MNT is in residence.
After posting a 10-4-2 record in 2003, which included a third place finish at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the United States will embark this year on the road to qualification for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. The U.S. begins CONCACAF qualifying June 13, 2004, against the winner of the home-and-away series between Grenada and Guyana, with their first match scheduled to be played in the United States. With the semifinal round slated to begin Aug. 18, the U.S. will play a series of friendlies in preparation throughout the year.

.S. team close to full strength against Netherlands
The Associated Press
2/12/04 12:34 PM
CHICAGO (AP) -- The U.S. soccer team will be close to full strength for the first time since the 2002 World Cup when it plays an exhibition game at the Netherlands on Wednesday.
Forwards Brian McBride, Landon Donovan and Clint Mathis; midfielders Claudio Reyna and John O'Brien; and goalkeepers Tim Howard and Kasey Keller were on the 22-man U.S. roster announced Thursday by coach Bruce Arena. The game will be at Amsterdam Arena, the home stadium of O'Brien's team, Ajax.
Eleven players are with European teams and 11 with Major League Soccer.
The chief omission is Blackburn goalkeeper Brad Friedel, the starter for the United States at the 2002 World Cup, where the Americans advanced to the quarterfinals. Arena intends to alternate his goalkeepers so they don't travel to games only to sit on the bench.
The Americans are 0-9-1 in Europe since beating Austria in an exhibition game in April 1998. The U.S. team is preparing for the start of World Cup qualifying against Grenada or Guyana on June 13.
NOS radio in the Netherlands reported Thursday that Barcelona forward Patrick Kluivert will miss the game at Amsterdam because of a knee injury.
The U.S. roster:
Goalkeepers: Tim Howard (Manchester United, England), Kasey Keller (Tottenham Hotspur, England), Jonny Walker (MetroStars)
Defenders: Gregg Berhalter (Energie Cottbus, Germany), Carlos Bocanegra (Fulham, England), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96, Germany), Cory Gibbs (Dallas), Frankie Hejduk (Columbus), Eddie Pope (MetroStars)
Midfielders: Chris Armas (Chicago), DaMarcus Beasley (Chicago), Bobby Convey (D.C. United), Chris Klein (Kansas City), Eddie Lewis (Preston North End, England), John OBrien (Ajax Amsterdam, England), Claudio Reyna (Manchester City, England), Kerry Zavagnin (Kansas City)
Forwards: Conor Casey (Karlsruher, Germany), Landon Donovan (San Jose), Clint Mathis (Hannover 96, Germany), Brian McBride (Fulham, England), Josh Wolff (Kansas City)

The article says Arena is alternating the goalies so they don't have to travel to only sit on the bench.
With the team we're taking, it should be fun to watch.
