Ryan Guy to [St. Patrick's Ireland]

GUY TAKING PART IN ST. PAT'S CAMP
Greg Seltzer for Yanks Abroad Tuesday, February 27, 2007
Former University of San Diego attacker Ryan Guy is practicing with Irish Premier Division club St. Patrick's Athletic at their Mallorca preseason camp.

Reports out of Ireland suggested that the forward had already signed, but both the club and Guy agent Steve Kelly confirmed that the news was premature.

"They invited him to their training camp in Spain, and he's gone along," he told YA. "He's played in two friendlies with them."

"It's just a possibility. He is still considering his options."

St. Pat's has been impressed with Guy, who earlier saw a Crystal Palace trial made irrelevant by a UK work passport rejection.

"He's trying to earn a contract," Saints press officer Philip Nolan told YA. "We come back home next week to start the season, and he would have to be signed by then."

"The Irish transfer window closes tomorrow, but since he is trialing with us now, he can still sign after."

The Red Army will begin the new FAI campaign with a March 10th visit to Longford Town.
