Im supper pumped for next season im also mad because theres zero rhinos home games during spring quarter, maybe go on a road trip to montreal, to either see the Islanders or Rochester, or maybe even head up to Toronto to see the team.

Rhinos 1-0 Miami
Rochester Raging Rhinos defender Kenney Bertz scored his first goal of the season, while his team won their first game of the season, as the Rhinos defeated Miami FC by a 1-0 score tonight in Miami. The Rhinos are now 1-1-0 after their first weekend of regular-season play.
Bertz's goal, which came in the 70th minute, was just his second regular-season goal as a Rhino. The Rhinos' second-year defender had one goal and one assist in 2006.
Rochester was outplayed in the first half, as MFC headed to halftime with an 8-3 advantage in shots. Six of those shots were denied by Rhinos goalkeeper Scott Vallow, who had eight saves on the night. MFC goalkeeper Chris Doyle finished the game with two stops.
"I thought we could have played better in the first half," said Rhinos Head Coach Laurie Calloway. "They handled the field better. We made some changes in the second half and turned it around."
Among Calloway's changes were four substitutions that he made just five minutes before Bertz's tally. Calloway inserted Josh Bolton at defense for Stephen Shirley-Black. He also inserted three midfielders (Ryan Wileman, Danny Kramer and Rey Martinez), and switched from a 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1 arrangement. The veteran coach' changes worked as Bertz headed a Johnny Menyonger corner kick past Doyle for the game's only goal.
"It was great to get a win, especially with it being a big two-game opening weekend," said Bertz. "We didn't play the best in the first, but we got together and played well in the second. The guys played tremendous and it was a great win."
Rochester will begin its home schedule on Saturday, May 4th with a match against the defending USL First Division Champion Vancouver Whitecaps. The contest, which is slated to start at 8:00 p.m., will be a rematch of the 2006 Championship Game.
Rochester: Vallow, Bertz, Palguta, Shirley-Black (Bolton 75'), Aloisi, Bonseu, Novak (Wileman 75'), Lines (Kramer 75'), Menyonger, Delicate, Diallo (Martinez 75')
Miami: Doyle, Guillaume, Rodrigues, Williams, Jacques (Ramirez 83'), Pulido, Cameron (Fraser 28'), Vasquez (Masquera 88'), Zinho, Gonzalez, Calcagno (Douglas 62')
Scoring: Rochester - Kenney Bertz, 70th minute

Rochester Rhinos tops Miami FC 1-0
Miami, June 1, 2007 - Miami FC did not let the standing water on the field slow them down as they created two prime scoring opportunities in the first 4 minutes. First, Eric Vasquez won a free kick 30 yards from the Rochester goal and his ensuing cross met the head of Cristiano Dias inside the Rhinos penalty area. His powerful header was wide of the goal, however. Minutes later, Nacho Calcagno made a quick turn inside the box and exploded by the defender. His right-footed blast made for a challenging save for Rochester goalkeeper Chase Harrison.
In the 14th minute, Rochester looked to have the first goal of the match. Miami FC goalkeeper Pat Hannigan was beat and the ball was heading towards goal but JP Rodrigues made a great recovery to sweep the ball off the line and keep the game scoreless.
Ten minutes later, Miami FC’s Sean Fraser had a crack at goal. Zinho started the play by intercepting a Rochester pass near the half way line and pushed the ball in front of a charging Fraser. The Jamaican player carried the ball into space before unleashing a 25 yard rocket that Harrison would struggle to save.
In the 25th minute, Rochester’s Mike Ambersly gave the visitors a 1-0 lead. He coolly finished a rebound in an open net after a Mathew Delicate attempt was denied by Hannigan.
Neither team was able to create a significant scoring chance for the next 20 minutes and the game entered halftime with Rochester holding a 1-0 lead.
Vasquez made a solo run up the middle of the field in the 48th minute before unloading a 30 yard laser shot. His shot, however, was stopped by Harrison.
In the 74th minute, Sean Cameron tried to cross from 35 yards out on the left side. His cross quickly turned into a shot by swerving toward the goal and dipping over Harrison in the Rochester goal. The bend on the ball was not enough though, as the ball whistled just wide of the far post.
Dias had another header chance in the 83rd minute. Still up field from his normal center defense position because of a corner kick, Dias found a Sergio Van Kanten cross and flicked it on towards goal with his head. The flick was not accurate enough though, as it missed the frame.
Miami FC kept the pressure on the Rhinos until the final whistle creating two golden chances in the 90th minute. Combination play through midfield between Zinho and Nico Mosquera freed Zinho for a long range shot that force Harrison to push the ball wide of the goal for a Miami FC corner kick. Rochester cleared the following corner but Vasquez picked off the clearance and hit another 30 yard bomb that looked like it might dip and curve around Harrison but the shot was ultimately off-target and Miami FC went on to lose 1-0.
Miami FC next plays tomorrow night at the Atlanta Silverbacks.

Portland at Montreal Friday on FSC
Two opposites meet for sixth time - 8:00 ET
The Portland Timbers and Montreal Impact have a short history with one another with just five games between the two leading into Friday night's contest, but this meeting is an important test as the one-loss Timbers look to hand Montreal its first defeat and shed the image of a cellar dweller established last season. USL Live Match of the Week:
Rochester at Carolina: Start of New Rivalry ?
Though this is the inaugural regular match between the two squads, there is a quite a bit of history in the rivalry. RailHawks president and general manager Chris Economides was one of the founders of the Rhinos, while head coach Scott Schweitzer enjoyed the most successful years of his playing career in Rochester. Defenders Frankie Sanfilippo and David Stokes, as well as midfielders Jonny Steele and Chris Carrieri, have all played for the Rhinos franchise. [+]
