wrong thread

Miami FC came into this game with an obligation to win their last match of the regular season. The Blues faced off with the Charleston Battery at Tropical Park Stadium. With a win today the Miami FC could still make the playoffs depending on other game fixtures. And that's exactly what happened

Miami FC re-signs

Eric Vasquez, Sean Cameron

Miami, December 17, 2007 - Miami FC announced today that midfielders Eric Vasquez and Sean Cameron will be back for their second season with the club, after having signed new agreements for the 2008 season.

Miami-born Eric Vasquez was Miami FC’s top scorer in 2007 with 6 goals, having played in 17 games and logging 1,549 total minutes. Eric missed some play time during 2007 due to an ankle injury suffered against the Seattle Sounders on April 27.

The 22-year-old rookie Sean Cameron, born in Brooklyn, N.Y., played in 19 games and scored 3 goals. The Rutgers product coincidentally led Miami FC to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Seattle Sounders on April 27, with a goal and an assist, and was named USL-1 Player of the Week.

“I played side by side with Eric Vasquez this past season and can guarantee that when healthy, he’s one of the finest midfielders in this league,” said former team captain and now Miami FC head coach Zinho. “I believe Eric will be a key player for Miami FC in 2008 and we are pleased to have him back next season.”

“Sean Cameron is a player who has shown great qualities during his first year with us. He adapted very well to our style of play and we’re now expecting him to play an even bigger role in the upcoming season,” declared Luiz Muzzi, General Manager for Miami FC.

Miami FC will kick off its 3rd season playing once again at Tropical Park Stadium, in the heart of Miami-Dade, in 2008. Miami FC will play a 30-game schedule and face each opponent 3 times.

Season tickets are currently 50% off and available online at Miami FC - USL Professional Soccer or by phone: 305-728-2612.
