Default Fulham 1-2 Bolton [Carling Cup] (26.09)

Quote:
Fans heading to Craven Cottage for Wednesday's Carling Cup clash between Fulham and Bolton Wanderers could be set for a six goal thriller.

Fulham's previous two home games have been 3-3 stalemates, and while supporters will be keen for more of the same, Lawrie Sanchez will be hoping his side can keep it tight at the back.

Sanchez led his side to a 2-1 victory over Bolton in the league in August, but the unpredictability of football means the result of this game is no forgone conclusion.

Miserable

Sammy Lee has suffered a miserable start to the season, but the Trotters coach might see this encounter as an opportunity to turn the corner.

Fulham are likely to hand starts to midfield duo Danny Murphy and Seol Ki-Hyeon, following their involvement in the 3-3 draw against Manchester City on Sunday.

Diomansy Kamara is in line for a recall to the starting XI, and should replace either David Healy or Clint Dempsey in attack.

Experienced defender Dejan Stefanovic may also return to the side in a bid to shore up the Cottagers' defence.

Impressing

Bolton boss Lee has no new injury worries ahead of the trip to the capital.

He has hinted that Christian Wilhelmsson and Daniel Braaten could make starts after impressing off the bench in recent matches.

Joey O'Brien, who made his first start 15 months against Tottenham on Sunday, could well feature, while Ricardo Gardner is also available.
