The Community Shield 2007: Chelsea vs Manchester United
The game is this weekend, all pregame and game discussion should be here.
So lets discuss this...I think Chelsea will take this, with Drogba with a brace.
If he is not injured of course.

If Drogba does play he is fit, we should win. Unless he.Cech and Terry get injured all by sunday I don't expect us to lose, unless it's penalties god forbid, tbh I don't care about result, just hope it's better then FA cup, which it should be with both teams coming into to at begging of season.
Bridge and Ballack,Kalou are out, Terry and Lampard will be playing with broken toes.

Chelsea should win it. We have quite a lot of injuries and have two games between now and Sunday (Doncaster today and Peterborough tomorrow). It will be interesting to see who plays in those games, and who is fit for Sunday.
Oh and my view on the Community Shield is it is a meaningless friendly that for some reason is ridiculously over-hyped to the extent people actually count it as a trophy. I don't care what happens as long as none of our players get injured or sent off.

Both teams seems to struggle with injuries before this kick off.I think the match could go both ways.No one is favourite.

If I were to guess the line up:
--------------------Kuszczak---------------
-Neville----Ferdinand----Vidic----Evra-
-------------Fletcher---Carrick------------
Ronaldo----------Anderson---------Nani
-------------------Rooney-------------------
For us. We usually use these games to give new signings a go, so I'd predict Nani and Anderson (if fit) to start. Tevez I'd back to be on the bench. No need to throw an unfit Hargreaves or Scholes out there. Backup keepers also often get in these games, although I'm not sure of it.

Community Shield preview
Quote:
Premier League champions Manchester United face FA Cup winners Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1.
Sir Alex Ferguson's side emerged from last season as the top side in England as they swept to the title in emphatic fashion.
But Chelsea had the last laugh when they denied United the double with a hard-fought victory in the first FA Cup final at the new Wembley Stadium.
Manchester United and Chelsea now renew their rivalry in the traditional season opener, hoping to lay down a marker for the coming campaign.
Both teams have brought in new players over the summer but, in contrast to recent years, it is United who have caught the eye and Chelsea who have been relatively reserved.
No place for new boys
United are set to have a very familiar look about them as Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson are all expected to be left out of the starting line-up.
Carlos Tevez will not feature either despite West Ham confirming they had agreed a deal for the Argentine to move to Old Trafford.
Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney are therefore likely to spearhead United's attack.
Blues not at full-strength
Chelsea have a number of injury worries, with Michael Ballack and Wayne Bridge both ruled out with ankle injuries.
Salomon Kalou is also sidelined with a knee problem, but Frank Lampard is available despite a minor toe injury.
Ashley Cole and Arjen Robben could also feature, while summer recruit Florent Malouda is set to start in a three-man attack along with Didier Drogba and Joe Cole.
There could be competitive debuts for Steve Sidwell and Tal Ben Haim.

I think the team will be.
---------------Cech-------------
Ben Haim/Johnson--Ricky-Terry--A.Cole
---SWP/Essien----Essien/Maka----Lampard(433) -- Malouda (442)
------J. Cole/Pizarro----------Drogba--------Malouda----
If that makes any sense, if 4-4-2 Malouda on left , Pizarro Drogba up front, if 4-3-3 Malouda or Cole on either side of Drogba, tohugh I agree Sidwell has good chance of starting.

Its just a pre season friendly and meaningless waste of a game. It be a better game then the fa cup thats for sure
United team probably
Van Der Sar
Brown
Rio
Vidic
Evra
Ronaldo
Carrick
Fletcher
Giggs
Nani
Rooney
I think that is likely to be United team with Hargreaves, Heinze, Saha, Ole, Anderson, Tevez, Neville all out in some way.

: We usually allways play our new signings in Shield games. I'd have expected both Nani and Anderson to start, due to this. Hargreaves and Scholes are out. Tevez is unfit, even if his registration was submitted in time.
It looks like a Carrik-Fletcher midfield, with Giggs, Ronaldo and Rooney the big names in attack. Who goes with them, considering Anderson, Nani, Park, Tevez and Saha won't, is probably gonna be Solskjaer. So
--------------------van der Sar------------
Neville-----Ferdinand-----Vidic-----Evra
---------------Carrick-----Fletcher---------
----Solskjaer-----Giggs-----Ronaldo-----
----------------------Rooney-----------------
Looks a possibility
Wait Ole and Neville are out too?

I only want to win this game because we play United. It's great having feeling to beat you.
That's why Jose will go all out for this game.

I'm sorry, but it seems certain fans brush games as unimportant, are not really thinking straight.
Being things what they are, this could mean millions of dollars in revenue for either club.
I gaurantee when the kickoff is on, the game will be taken very seriously by both clubs.
