FA Cup: 5th Round draw
Quote:
Favourites Manchester United and Chelsea were both handed home ties in the draw for the FA Cup fifth round.
United will face Premiership rivals Reading, while champions Chelsea will host either Blackpool or Norwich.
Two other all-Premiership matches came out of the hat, with Spurs away to Fulham and Blackburn travelling to the winners of the Arsenal-Bolton replay.
Another interesting draw was the pairing of neighbours Manchester City and Preston, with Deepdale the venue.
Chelsea v Blackpool or Norwich
Watford v Ipswich
Preston v Man City
Plymouth v Derby County
Man Utd v Reading
Arsenal or Bolton v Blackburn
Bristol City or Middlesbrough v West Bromwich Albion
Fulham v Tottenham
|
The big ties of the round have to be Fulham vs Spurs and Arsenal/Bolton vs Blackburn which shows how much the big teams have been kept apart. Chelsea, United and (potentially) Arsenal all have home ties.

Great draw for Chelsea, Arsenal got the worst draw (supposing they get through...) but because of home advantage all of the top teams will get through I think

delighted with the draw, we should get through if we play anything like we have done recently.

if we beat blackpool - we aint the easiest team to play!

we wount and I expect you too stick Dublin or Brown as a lone striker or wide on the left to go against the worst rb in the prem. Huckberry will cause us problems.
I really hope SWP and Geremi dont start because they gonna cause us defensvily problems loosing the ball and getting out of position and offfer us nothing in attack.
So I feel you have a good chance, but with talent we got a suspect a set piece win.

Obviously we'd be happy with the draw because we didnt get a Premiership team which is always a plus no matter who we play.
Sure you'll give us a better game than Wycome, Notts Forest or Macclesfield but Blackpool have been playing really well recently in their league and I'd certainly be a little more scared to play them, no offence.
