Default Sheff Utd v Swansea

Quote:
Sheffield United are desperate not to lose to League One opposition in the FA Cup third round for a second year in a row.

Last season, The Blades were humbled 2-1 by Colchester United at Bramall Lane, although both clubs ended the season by gaining promotion.

With Neil Warnock's side now in the Premiership, they will be an even bigger scalp for Saturday's visitors Swansea City.

The League One promotion hopefuls have won just once in 16 previous visits to Bramall Lane, and that came way back in 1939.

Warnock is ready to make changes to his team as he looks to juggle the demands of the cup and keeping the club in the Premiership.

Captain Chris Morgan is definitely missing after he copped a three-match suspension for violent conduct after an incident with Arsenal's Robin van Persie last weekend.

Goalkeeper Paddy Kenny will be absent due to injury, so Paul Gerrard will continue between the posts.

Christian Nade could come back into the starting line-up, particularly with striker Rob Hulse suspended.

The likes of Colin Kazim-Richards, Derek Geary and Alan Quinn are pushing for starts, while midfielder Mikele Leigertwood is missing.

Swansea travel to Sheffield without Lee Trundle, who is suspended after being sent off in last Saturday's defeat at Huddersfield Town.

The South Wales club are also without skipper Darren Pratley as the midfielder is nursing an ankle injury.

Ian Craney is cup-tied, having played for Accrington in the first round, while Andy Robinson will undergo a fitness test on a back injury.

Marcos Painter has been laid low with a stomach upset in recent days, but is expected to be available for selection.

Swansea shocked Sheffield United with a convincing 3-0 victory at Bramall Lane in the third round of the FA Cup.

United have been on fine form in the Premiership in recent weeks but were desperately under-strength and were made to pay by a rampant Swansea side.

The League One showed from the outset that they were up for the fight and Blades keeper Paul Gerrard was twice called into action to deny Rory Fallon in the early stages.

Thomas Butler also came close to breaking the deadlock as his free-kick from just outside the area cannoned off Christian Nade's head and looped onto the roof of the net.

Neil Warnock's side finally snapped into life towards the end of the first half as Alan Quinn flicked a Nick Montgomery free-kick from the right wing just over the crossbar.

Kevan Hurst conjured something from nothing with a sharp turn on the stroke of half-time with a sharp shot on the turn, but Willy Gueret produced a tremendous save to keep The Swans on level terms.

It proved to be United's best spell of the match, as Butler opened the scoring for Swansea after 53 minutes, slotting home after Leigh Bromby had blocked Adebayo Akinfenwa's shot.

Butler grabbed his second six minutes later to double Swansea's advantage, latching onto Akinfenwa's pass and then seeing his effort slide underneath Butler.

Alan Quinn came close to pulling one back as his header was well saved by Gueret, but United's hopes disappeared as Swansea added a third from the penalty spot after 67 minutes.

Butler was again involved as he was brought down by Derek Geary, but it was left to Leon Britton to complete the rout with a well-placed spot-kick.

Blades supporters streamed out of Bramall Lane, while those that remained greeted the final whistle with a loud chorus of boos.
