Into the Wild
Saw this about a month ago now. Really liked it.
Into the Wild (2007)
It's based (very closely actually) on a true story - of a young American guy who after graduating decides he doesn't want to do the whole, get a job, earn a wage, settle down thing and that he'd rather just wonder off for a few years, travelling the country.
I'd say it is well worth a watch, nothing revolutionary and certainly not a film that will be talked about in years to come but there are worse ways to spend a couple of hours.

Pretty much agree with your post. Even better when you consider its based on a true story too.
Personally i think he had some serious screws loose but this was never really brought across in the film. Spoiler of sorts in white font. Dont't scroll across.... Shame how it ended for him.
Hope that works.

SPOILER BELOW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I saw it, and to be honest. I didn't feel any sympathy for him. He got exactly what he deserved.
I live near some dense bush, and I would never venture out into it, without alerting a family member to exactly where I was going or going to camp out.
He was stupid, foolish, arrogant and to put his family through that, no matter how bad or controlling they were, was just EVIL.
If you want to break free, bugger off and at least have the guts to tell them what your intentions are. They deserved that at least.

Reply (serious spoilers included - do NOT read if you haven't watched it)
-- spoiler alert --
Jager, I agree with you but look at what happened at the very end of the movie. He realized that he was wrong and had made a mistake. He said that happiness is only great if you can share it. So even if you think he was wrong in doing what he did (look, I do understand that he was really pissed at his parents and at life) he still realized at the very end that it wasn't the right way to go.

SPOILER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
For sure Bandini, however I stand by my original point. I have no sympathy for him. Waste of a life and just completely idiotic. Regardless if he figured it out or not.
