Closing FM

Sadly I have to inform you all that me and meccano, after a long discussion, have decided that it's best if we close FM.

Neither me nor him have the time for this atm, we thought we could run a match each weekend, but the fact is that about a month has passed and we haven't been able to finish the rosters, only 5 from 8 are done.

I'm sorry about this, I know all of you really like this game and would like if we continued running it, but it's just unbearable for us, we have no time..


We might have more time after Christmas, so hopefully we can bring it back in January. Until then, FM will be closed.

It has been comin latley. The game sadly died everyone seemed to lost interest.

Season 1 was by far the greatest season...this was a fresh game and there was tons of interest. The following seasons couldn't live up to the same hype as managers would consistently not send in TS and every MD was a free win for at least one manager. Also, the upgraded stats of players after 4 seasons didn't help either. Some players reached the 24 limit quite quickly and caused a reluctance in the transfer windows to a point where no transfers were made at all. The rosters probably should of been reset after season 3 to keep the interest alive, but it's hard to part with players you've developed.

I would like to thank Kahn/Meccano for all their hard work in this game. They truly did a great job and it's much appreciated. This can be a tedious game at times updating rosters and running the games, especially with the randoms...but, they put in a great effort to keep this game a float.

Just a suggestion...Maybe hand over the game to another member? Snake seems pretty active in FM?

Thats a shame but I totally understand university + studies come first. At least we where able to play the game in the first place. So a big thanks to meccano and Oli for running this game for 4 seasons.

thanks for the comments guys. I'm really sorry that we cant continue this, both me and mecano also enjoy this game as much as you do, but just dont have the time atm.

we'll be back at some point though, because beating FR's Roma on the last MD of the season and screwing him out of the title has become one of my fav hobbies
(just joking mate, you know I have tremendous respect for you, my one true rival ^^)

You are just lucky that there isn't another season, because you know you would lose the title to me once again. Making 3 titles for me and only 2 for you.

Well, your first title was won during my absence so for me, that one won't be taken into account
last season you did beat me by 2 points, but that's because I wanted to give someone else a chance at winning the league, you know, it gets boring if you win always

Who's fault is it that you left? I sure as hell didn't keep you hostage.

Surely if you wanted someone else to win you wouldn't have left such a big gap between you and me (the eventual winner). Also wouldn't you have wanted to prove you are the best at the game by winning the final season before everything was reset? Dodgy story if you ask me.

lol my point was that since I didn't participate, that league doesnt count as much as if I had participated (at least for me anyway ^^)

nah, I had already proved I was the best in the seasons before, it was time someone else got a taste of glory

Sorry...I meant if you wanted some one else to win the league why leave (such a big) gap of 2 points why not 1 point? Like I said before dodgy story ...stop trying to cover up that someone might be as gd or better than you at the game.....and by that I mean meccano.

Kahn was caught of match fixing, that's why he "left" We suspended him for a year and we added him (Porto) to the OSM manager. Where he probably lost

Geez...I got royally screwed by both Kahn and Dellas. I definitely resembled the true Roma being the ultimate runner up.

Well, at least i won The Cup back to back... And i achieved winning it in my rookie season.

It's a great game.

Hope it resurrects later.
