I was looking at the rumour mill and the news is that a deal for Gio dos Santos from Barcelona (£12M) and Richard Dunne from City (£5M) are both likely, as well as Diego Capel (£11M) from Sevilla.

Add these players to the current few, and Modric who's joining, and it's a pretty phenomenal young squad, but how the hell is it going to fit together??

----------------Coupet?---------------
Hutton---Woodgate--Dunne--Bale
Giovani---Modric---Zokora---Capel
--------Berbatov---Keane-----------

With players like King, Dawson, Chimbonda, Jenas, Huddlestone, Lennon, Bent as back-up?

Although the team I've put is surely way too attacking.... I don't think Giovani or Capel are up to much defensively, and Hutton and Bale like to get forward.

it might still be a little early for this thread considering none of the transfers (bar Modric) are official yet but any ideas?

I like the look of that team

You're right, it would be a great young squad, but I'd be very surprised if some of the players you've mentioned are at WHL next season. It looks as though Berbatov, Chimbonda and maybe Dawson will be on their way, and I think we would only sign either Giovanni dos Santos or Diego Capel and not both.

A new keeper is definitely needed and at this stage no-one knows who, but I think with the problems at Man City, a bid for Joe Hart would be good? I still don't rate Zokora very highly, so hopefully Huddlestone will be given a long run in the team as a DM, I can't really think of anyone else obvious who we could go for in that position?
