Berbatov to quit Spurs?
Quote:
Dimitar Berbatov could be on his way out of White Hart Lane in what would be a huge blow for Spurs boss Juande Ramos.
The Bulgarian maestro is reportedly unhappy at Tottenham's league performance this campaign and wants to play Champions League football next season.
According to the player's agent, Emil Dantchev, contract negotiations have stalled several times already, with Spurs reluctant to set agree to a fixed buy-out clause.
Dantchev also said: He (Berbatov) is 27 years old and he needs to win trophies. It is time he was transferred to a club that regularly plays in the Champions League. There are seven to eight clubs in Europe interested and we know them well."
Berbatov admitted to being 'flattered' by interest from AC Milan only last week.

Berbatov on the way out of Tottenham as he is absent when new kit is launched
Quote:
Dimitar Berbatov was conspicuous by his absence at Tottenham's launch of their new kit in central London last night.
The decision to opt for vice captain Robbie Keane, Jonathan Woodgate and Jermaine Jenas to don the new kit adds to the widely held belief that Berbatov's days at White Hart Lane are numbered given he is arguably Tottenham's most marketable player.
Spurs, meanwhile, are interested in Birmingham's Olivier Kapo, 27.
Martin Jol is on the verge of signing a two-year deal with German side Hamburg. Dutchman Jol has been out of work since being sacked by Spurs in October and is expected to replace countryman Huub Stevens who will take over at PSV Eindhoven in the summer.

it's really sad that this is the case. I can't say I blame a player of his skill for wanting to go to a bigger and better club but he stuck with us before and Ramos is doing great things. They have to replace him with somebody really special or maybe Bent is about to show why we paid so much for him.
Really sad news though.

Spurs Seek To Force Berbatov's Hand
Tottenham Hotspur appear to be trying to force the hand of their star striker Dimitar Berbatov by offering him a new £70,000-a-week contract to stay at White Hart Lane.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov has been told that he must sign a new contract at White Hart Lane if he does not secure the move he is seeking.
Tottenham have not yet received any bids for the Bulgarian - on whose head they've placed a £25million price tag - despite apparent interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and Manchester United.
The Mail says it understands Tottenham have now made a new offer to Berbatov worth around £70,000-a-week; if he accepts it he will become one of the North London club's highest earners.
However, the 27-year-old Bulgaria international still hopes to move to a team that will be involved in next season's Champions League, with a transfer to a club in Spain believed to be his preference.
Tottenham's manager, Juande Ramos, is planning his squad-building on the assumption that Berbatov will leave. His primary target, Samuel Eto'o, seems reluctant to move. So, Ramos is reportedly switching his focus to Diego Milito, striker with Real Zaragoza, who were relegated to Spain's second division at the end of the season.

It now looks like Berbatov is very close to joining Manchester United.
And, with that money, I can see Spurs getting Eto'o, probably.
