Tottenham to splash £10m on Rangers' defensive rock Carlos Cuellar
Quote:
Tottenham have added Rangers defender Carlos Cuellar to their wish list for the summer following his superb debut season in Scotland.
Cuellar, who has just been named the Scottish Football Writers' Player of the Season, has been a key part in Rangers' incredible bid to win the Quadruple.

Rangers defender Carlos Cuellar
Cuellar joined Rangers for only £2.37m from Osasuna last summer.
Spurs have already managed to make the most of Rangers' need for funds by signing Alan Hutton for £8m in January and know that a big offer will prove difficult to refuse.
Manager Juande Ramos wants to strengthen at the back for next season with captain Ledley King plagued by injury, and Michael Dawson and Younes Kaboul likely to leave.

Tottenham are lining up a cut-price bid for Birmingham's Olivier Kapo should the Blues be relegated. Kapo, who only last week claimed he was willing to stay at the club even if they did drop into the Championship, has emerged as a surprise target for Spurs. Boss Juande Ramos is keen to beef up his squad and sees the 27-year-old as the ideal candidate and is considering preparing a bid.
The French midfielder has five goals this season but hasn't scored since he notched in the 3-1 defeat at Everton back in November.

Tottenham are set to make a sensational swoop for Crystal Palace superkid John Bostock. The Daily Mail says Bostock is on the verge of signing for Tottenham after Crystal Palace reluctantly agreed to sell the most sought-after teenager in the country in a deal that could be worth millions to the Championship club.
Bostock, who made his debut for Palace aged 15 years 289 days, was told he could leave Selhurst Park last Wednesday and Tottenham sporting director Damien Comolli believes he has persuaded the England Under 17 midfielder, also wanted by Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, to move to White Hart Lane.
Palace are demanding around £5million, with a series of bonus clauses dependent on club and country appearances.

Tottenham are planning a bid for Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka. The Daily Express says Spurs are aware Anelka is available from Chelsea after failing to fit into coach Avram Grant's system since his January arrival from Bolton. Tottenham are willing to match the £15 million Chelsea paid for Anelka to take him across London.

Juande Ramos is ready to offer £15 million for Blackburn Rovers winger David Bentley. The Sun says Ramos will test Rovers' resolve to hang on to their rising England star, who has so far refused improved terms at Ewood Park.
Bentley, 23, has three years to run on his deal after joining Rovers from Arsenal two years ago.
But Blackburn's failure to qualify for Europe could be the deciding factor as Spurs can at least offer Bentley UEFA Cup football next term following their Carling Cup win.

Tottenham are ready to offer Paul Robinson in their £10 million bid for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart. The Daily Mail says Spurs manager Juande Ramos sees Hart, who was called up to Fabio Capello's England squad this week, as the best-value prospect in the country and wants him to form the foundation to Tottenham's attempt to break into the top four next season.

Tottenham have outbid Inter and AC Milan for Barcelona star Samuel Eto'o. Reports in Spain suggest Spurs have offered Barcelona £24million for the striker - £8m more than the Italian clubs are prepared to pay.
The Evening Standard says Spurs are also willing to break their wage structure and give the Cameroon international £107,000 a week. Head coach Juande Ramos wants Eto'o to replace Dimitar Berbatov if the Bulgarian leaves as expected and the club have reportedly been looking for sponsors to help with his wages.
Chairman Daniel Levy cancelled plans to fly to Barcelona yesterday to continue talks but his decision had nothing to do with the deal.

Tottenham have joined the interest for Newcastle United winger Damien Duff. Duff is expected to leave Toon this summer and has been linked with Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers. Spurs are also following developments. Former Chelsea midfielder Duff has already put his house up for sale and ideally wants to move back to the capital.

Tottenham are weighing up a bid for Newcastle United striker Michael Owen. The People says Spurs have made enquiries about the Newcastle striker, who is facing a pay cut on his £120,000-a-week wages if he stays at St James' Park.
But with Spurs ready to break their strict pay structure to land a top-class hitman, England star Owen, 28, is also on their radar.

Tottenham are chasing Real Zaragoza striker Diego Milito. AS says Spurs and Barcelona are moving for the Argentina international, who is being made available following Zaragoza's relegation.
I doubt he will succeed in the Premiership.

Juande Ramos fears being priced out of a deal for Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o. The Sun says Tottenham's boss flew to Spain on Monday to open negotiations for the Cameroon striker, 27. But Barca want £33million for him, while the player's £6m-a- year wage demands look sure to scupper any deal.
