Spurs hope to close deal for Chelsea's Wright-Phillips

Tottenham are hopeful of closing a £12 million deal for Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips this week.

The Mirror says the north Londoners are in "advanced negotiations" with the deposed champions to snap up the England star and take their summer spending to nearly £50m.

SWP was chased by Tottenham two years ago when he was up for sale at Manchester City but they were blown out of the water by Chelsea who paid £21m for the player.

Aston Villa and City are also interested.

It's not even that, why would SWP move to spurs when a player he cometes with for England mid spot all ready plays there.
