Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze has been linked with a move to Tottenham.
The Argentine has not managed to establish himself in United's starting XI this season after recovering from injury.
Patrice Evra has regularly been preferred at left-back, while Southampton starlet Gareth Bale remains a January transfer target for Sir Alex Ferguson.
United could therefore decide to part with Heinze, with reports suggesting he will be on his way out of the Old Trafford exit door if Bale arrives.
Juventus and Paris Saint Germain are both interested in bringing in Heinze, but Tottenham are believed up be lining up a £5million swoop.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Lee Young-pyo are currently vying for the left-back spot at White Hart Lane but many feel it is still a problem position for Martin Jol.
