Default Spurs set their sights on defender Sankoh

Quote:
Tottenham have reportedly set their sights on Groningen defender Gibri Sankoh.

The 23-year-old has been a regular for Groningen since signing for the club in January 2005 and is regarded as one of the best defenders in the Dutch League.

Spurs boss Martin Jol is believed to be keen on signing him and has sent scouts to watch him on several occasions, according to reports in the Dutch media.

Sankoh will need to be prised away from Groningen though, as his existing deal with the club does not expire until 2010.

Sankoh was born in Sierra Leone but also holds a Dutch passport.

He is great.
Would be a nice signing.

It's not defence where they need to improve. Although they have loads of midfielders their cm's need replacing. Jenas is crap.

jenas is underrated, his crossing ability is actually brilliant as is his stamina, plus hes only 23.

hes shown time and time again he can perform in big games by scoring v man utd last year and the year before and assisting v chelsea today.

Jenas doesn't play centre mid for Spurs anyway.

I also dont think they need to concentrate on defence right now, but the problem with Spurs historically is that they have never had depth like the big boys so I think it would be a good signing.

I think Jenas is alright.
