Tottenham Hotspur will be without Finnish midfielder Teemu Tainio for at least a month following the player's hernia operation.
The combative 26-year-old was forced to withdraw from Finland's squad for forthcoming European Championship qualifiers against Armenia and Kazakhstan respectively.
Spurs boss Martin Jol admits news of Tainio's injury and subsequent absence is a real blow, accepting that his recuperation will take a month, at best.
"It's a blow for Teemu," Jol told the club's official website.
"He had the operation on Thursday and I would expect him to be out for at least four weeks, probably more."
